‘The Nate & Jeremiah Home Project’ Returns to Rescue Americans from Clutter Overload
HGTV‘s husband duo Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent will return for another season of The Nate & Jeremiah Home Project to help more Americans de-clutter and streamline their homes.
The network announced that the new season is will premiere spring of 2023 and the design couple will dive back into busy households to help frazzled families feature sentimental pieces while getting rid of the noise. HGTV promises more of the same vibe from season 1, which Brent described as “an hour of kindness and connection.”
What is ‘Nate & Jeremiah Home Project’ about?
Brent told Showbiz Cheat Sheet that Nate & Jeremiah Home Project was created to feature their clients, not them. “So the show is basically about people. It’s a design show, but not about us,” he said. “It’s a design show actually about design, which I’m very excited about, because, like I said, every show on television is how quickly, how fast … move on, transactions.”
“On this show is about meeting people, understanding who they are through their things,” Brent added. “Helping them move through a transition in their life, sometimes great, sometimes terrible. Getting to know them and then hopefully transforming their home in a way they didn’t know was possible. I always say that our show is a love story. It’s how we show love through design. It’s how our family shows love. How we connect. And I’m hoping that that’s what people see that it’s an hour of just kindness and connection.”
HGTV’s Loren Ruch said the first season of Nate & Jeremiah Home Project struck a chord with viewers. “We can all relate to accumulating too much stuff,” Ruch said in a release. “Nate and Jeremiah show us how we can sift through the clutter to save only our most treasured possessions and then incorporate them into transformative design, so this is a concept that resonates with our audience.”
Nate and Jeremiah had a big surprise toward the end of season 1
The last season ended on a bittersweet note. Brent and Berkus bought back their beloved New York City townhouse after they sold it in 2015. “We’re about to take a huge step into what is hopefully our forever home, and finally be able to put the roots down somewhere we’ve always wanted,” Brent revealed in a confessional during the episode. “I never thought that we would move home, and that’s what Fifth Avenue has been for us, it was always home.”
“One chapter ended, and a new chapter is starting,” Berkus remarked. “But it’s been good to us.” He added, “Now that everything has been packed up and cleaned out of here, I’m ready to go. I’m ready to go home. We’re both ready to go home.”
That’s when the couple revealed they bought the 9,000 square foot townhouse.
They love working together too
Berkus and Brent work together in harmony and Brent told Showbiz Cheat Sheet he loves working with his husband because he is his favorite person. “He’s my favorite person of all,” Brent said. “He’s my best friend. I love him madly. We love creating. I mean sometimes I’m like, I’m tired of hearing your voice [laughs]. But we love it. And we both get to do what we love.”
“Which is what I’m so grateful for,” he added. “You know, we go to bed talking about design. We wake up talking about it. But he’s the easy part. He’s fine. He’s annoying [laughs again]. But I love him. He’s a special kind of annoying.”
