Peter Weber’s currently airing season of The Bachelor doesn’t have a lot of great candidates for the upcoming season of The Bachelorette. Perhaps that’s why producers are currently in talks with a few Bachelor alums (and maybe even considering giving Hannah Brown another shot). However, they’re also considering Kelsey Weier, a top-four contestant of Weber’s. Whoever ABC chooses, we don’t have too long to find out. The final choice for The Bachelorette will be revealed on the morning of Monday, March 2nd, on Good Morning America.

On the morning of Feb. 28, 2020, Tony Morrison, a producer for Good Morning America, tweeted out some exciting news for Bachelor Nation.

“JUST ANNOUNCED: We’re revealing the new @BacheloretteABC, LIVE MONDAY on @GMA!” he wrote. “Have questions for her? ASK in as a reply below!”

Bachelorette stans jumped on the news quickly.

“Shout out to @THETonyMorrison for making my morning but also making today wildly unproductive,” Brett Vergara, a Bachelor superfan tweeted.

Who will the next lead of ‘The Bachelorette’ be?

Notorious spoiler of all things Bachelor and Bachelorette, Reality Steve has reported that three alums of the reality dating show were in talks with producers.

Tayshia Adams, a final-three contestant on Colton Underwood’s season and half of Bachelor in Paradise‘s power couple (the other half being John Paul Jones), was apparently on the list. Next came Tia Booth, a standout from Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s season of The Bachelor. Booth was in contention for The Bachelorette‘s lead role until, of course, Luyendyk broke poor Becca Kufrin’s heart, and she had a better sob story.

Finally, the only woman named from the currently airing season: Kelsey Weier. The native of Des Moines, Iowa is probably the most-talked-about frontrunner for next year’s Bachelorette.

The pageant girl-turned-professional-clothier had quite a time on Pilot Pete’s season. Weier came off a little intense at first, being the instigator of season 24’s notorious #ChampagneGate. After buckets of tears poured out, Weier appeared to mend the rift with the fellow contestant she accused of stealing her birthday champagne, Hannah Ann Sluss. She also made a great impression on Weber on her first one-on-one date. From potential villain to one of Pilot Pete’s top choices, Weier had quite a glow-up.

Although she was accused of having a wine-related “mental breakdown” by another cast member, Weier recovered and showed her resolve. Yes, she cries a lot. But she has a good head on her shoulders (not something you can say about many of Pilot Pete’s contestants), a loving and supportive family, and hey, it’s 2020; vulnerability is a strength.

Reality Steve shares spoiler about Kelsey Weier on ‘Women Tell All’

According to Reality Steve, Weier also had quite a showing on the ‘Women Tell All’ episode of The Bachelor Season 24.

“Kelsey on the hot seat talked about her journey, her being very emotional, seemed like a Bachelorette audition,” he tweeted. In general, the sadder your Bachelor story, the more likely it is you’ll get cast.

At this point, Miss Iowa is the only viable choice from Weber’s season. However, we all know those Bachelor producers love to throw us a curveball. So we’ll be waiting with bated breath for that Bachelorette announcement on Good Morning America.
