‘The Office’: Jenna Fischer Says She and John Krasinski Had a Total ‘Jim and Pam’ Moment Off-Screen
According to The Office star Jenna Fischer, she and John Krasinski shared a moment behind-the-scenes that was very similar to an exchange between Jim and Pam. In Fischer’s words, their “Jim and Pam” moment was “so sweet and cute and supportive.” Plus, it happened before they even landed their roles on the series, which created immediate chemistry between them.
Jenna Fischer says that parts of her and John Krasinski were ‘genuinely in love’
Fischer said that there was a part of her that was in love with Krasinski, and there was a part of Krasinski that was in love with her. During an episode of Watch What Happens Live, she said, “John and I have real chemistry. There’s like a real part of me that is Pam, and a real part of him that’s Jim. And those parts of us were genuinely in love with one another…”
Yet to clarify, Fischer said that in real life, they wouldn’t make a perfect match because Jim and Pam are just characters they play.
“But in real life, we aren’t totally Pam and totally Jim, so in real life, we’re not the perfect match,” she said, (while breaking the heart of millions.) “So it’s a really complicated thing, but he was like a type of spouse that I had for a really long time. He was like a partner.”
Meanwhile, while speaking with ET Canada, Krasinski said of Fischer, “I would love to work on anything with Jenna. She is the absolute greatest actress. But also more than that, she’s the most amazing person. So I would love to spend all my time with her if I could.”
John Krasinski and Jenna Fischer shared a ‘Jim and Pam’ moment before landing their roles on ‘The Office’
According to Fischer, she and Krasinski had an adorable Jim and Pam moment during the audition process of The Office.
“The moment I sat down with her, I thought, ‘This girl is going to get it,'” Krasinski said of Fischer.
And according to Fischer (Via People Magazine,)
“John and I were walking out of an audition scene, and he suddenly turned to me and whispered, ‘You’re my favorite Pam. I hope you get this job.’ It was exactly as sweet and cute and supportive as anything Jim would say to Pam. I smiled really big and said, ‘I’m so glad you said that because you’re my favorite Jim, and I don’t think anyone could do it except for you.'”
Jenna Fischer and John Krasinski fully supported each other during the audition process of ‘The Office’
According to the biography on the series, The Office: The Untold Story of the Greatest Sitcom of The 2000s, the first thing Krasinski asked after landing his role was whether or not Fischer would be playing Pam.
“The first question I asked when I got the part was, ‘Did Jenna get the part?’ (Fischer) said, ‘That’s the first question I asked too.’ So it was this weird thing going already, this chemistry that had already started, which was pretty awesome.”
