‘The Office’: A Racy Jim And Pam Scene Was Cut From 1 Episode — ‘People Would Have Lost Their Minds’

The Office fans would have been completely stunned if one racy Jim and Pam scene wasn't cut from a season 4 episode. The Office Ladies share the details of the 'sex talk between Jim and Pam,' with Jenna Fischer cringing about the scene's dialogue.

The Office fans loved watching Jim and Pam’s relationship, beginning with their workplace flirting through to their marriage and raising a family. The early days of their romantic relationship were sweet and pretty PG, but there was one racy scene cut from a season 4 episode that might have changed that.

‘The Office’ cut this racy Jim and Pam scene

On the April 14 episode of the Office Ladies podcast, Fischer and her co-host Angela Kinsey discussed the season 4 episode “Did I Stutter?,” which finds boss Michael Scott dealing with Stanley‘s insubordination.

The episode also has Pam wearing glasses. She explains that she slept over at a friend’s house and didn’t have her contact lens solution. Of course, she was referring to being with Jim overnight.

Kinsey noted during the podcast that she had the shooting draft script for the episode, which included a lot of scenes that weren’t in the final episode that aired. One of the scenes that was cut was a “racy” exchange between Jim and Pam.

Jim goes beyond flirty in the scene

Kinsey laid out the scene and it’s a bit of a jaw-dropper. “So I’m reading the shooting draft last night and this is in there,” she shared. “As people head to the conference room, Jim smiles at Pam. Jim says, ‘The price you pay for a night in heaven.’ Pam glances at the camera, stilted. ‘Yes. The movies were good, Jim.'”

Kinsey continued, “Jim says, ‘You mean the movies that we made of us making love?’ Pam, panicking, glances to camera. ‘Shut up. We didn’t film ourselves.’ Jim to camera: ‘Hi, Pam’s grandma. Sorry you had to find out like this.’ And then Pam hits Jim and they go into the conference room.”

Fischer was certain the scene wouldn’t have gone over well with fans. “I don’t remember if we filmed that,” she said. “If it’s in the shooting draft, we must have. People would have lost their minds if we’d left that in the show.”

“Just hearing that makes me feel like I’ve just walked in on my parents … Having an intimate moment, like I just like, ‘No, no, no, I don’t want to see it, don’t want to see it,'” she added.

‘The Office’ also cut a scene where Pam was pissed off

It turns out, that wasn’t the only scene cut. There was another one in the parking lot at the end of the episode that wouldn’t have won over the fans.

They played the clip, which had Jim explaining to Pam how Ryan is trying to fire him, after giving him a warning that day. “Pam is not having it,” Fischer shared.

Pam tells Jim, “What? God, he’s such a creep. It really pisses me off. I’m going to bash his face in. I’m gonna bash his face in with a stale bagel. Then I’m gonna throw a rock at his car. Come on, we’re going to New York right now. I’m driving. If I hit him without my glasses, I don’t think it’s a crime.”

Cutting this scene and the racy Jim and Pam moment was probably the right call. “Can you imagine if they had left in the sex talk between Jim and Pam up at the top and then this scene of Pam saying she’s going to throw a rock at Ryan or maybe hit him with her car?,” Fischer wondered. “Oh, my gosh.”
