‘The Order’ Season 2: Will Jack Have His Memory Back When the Netflix Series Returns In June?
Ever since The Order premiered on Netflix in the spring of 2019, fans have been waiting for a second season. Luckily, the streamer is bringing the show back in time to make it a perfect summer binge. Here are all the details about when Season 2 premieres and what fans can expect.
‘The Order’ Season 2 hits Netflix in June
It’s been over a year since season 1 of The Order introduced viewers to college freshman-turned-werewolf Jack Morton (Jake Manley). As announced by Netflix’s NX Twitter account, series is scheduled to return for Season 2 this summer, on June 18.
The streamer has yet to confirm the episode count. But if the show sticks with its previous format, Season 2 will likely drop with 10 episodes, just like Season 1.
Sarah Grey and Jake Manley will reprise their roles as Alyssa Drake and Jack Morton. Adam DiMarco, Devery Jacobs, and Thomas Elms will return to play The Knights of Christopher members, Randall, Lillith, and Hamish. Louriza Tronco will reprise her role as Gabrielle and Katharine Isabelle will be back as The Order’s new leader, Vera Stone.
Where Season 1 left off
On the first season of The Order, after years of planning with his grandfather, Pops (Matt Frewer), Jake joins Belgrave University to bring down Edward Coventry (Max Martini) and the Hermetic Order of the Blue Rose. But when he’s taken over by a werewolf named Silverback, Jack becomes a Knight of Christopher and learns more about the Order’s power and Edward’s evil plan.
In the finale, Edward, who is also Jack’s father, kills Pop with his magic. Alyssa and Vera team up with the Knights to stop Edward from sacrificing his young son to gain absolute magical power. Jack tricks his dad into thinking he’ll bring his son in for sacrifice, but offers himself up instead.
When Edward plunges a dagger into Jack’s body, he discovers it’s actually a Gollum that looks like Jack. Edward withers away into dust, and Vera takes over the Order as Magus.
In the final scene, when Jack visits his mother and Pop’s graves, Alyssa finds him there. She kisses him, whispers “I love you,” and then wipes Jack’s memory. As she leaves Jack in the graveyard, he doesn’t remember anything about his life, not even his name.
What to expect from Season 2 of ‘The Order’
With Jack’s memories gone, he won’t remember anything that happened with the Order or the Knights. But according to a Netflix synopsis of the new season, he will get at least some of his memory back.
“In season two, the lines between good and evil are more obscure than ever,” the official synopsis reads. “The Knights struggle to regain their memories stolen from them by The Order and they crave retribution. But vengeance is hard to plan when you’re also fighting murderous magicians, strange cults and life-threatening demons. Does anyone even go to class anymore?”
Netflix has yet to release a trailer. But as the premiere date nears, the streamer will likely offer up a few sneak peeks, so fans should keep an eye out.
