You’ll want to pour yourself a glass of wine before settling in to watch the new Hallmark Channel movie The Perfect Pairing, which premieres Saturday, Jan. 15. It focuses on a romance between a wine critic and a single dad whose family owns a winery she once panned in a review.

‘The Perfect Pairing’ stars Nazneen Contractor and Brennan Elliott

The Perfect Pairing premieres Saturday, Jan. 15 at 8 p.m. ET as part of Hallmark’s “New Year, New Movies” programming event. It stars 24 alum Nazneen Contractor as Christina, an influential – and anonymous – critic. Cedar Cove‘s Brennan Elliott plays the love interest Michael, who helps to run his family’s winery. Filming for the movie took place on location at the Pellar Estates Winery in Ontario, Canada.

“This is by far my favorite @hallmarkchannel movie I’ve made this far,” Contractor wrote on Instagram. “So much love & labor went into this one. From my heart to yours.”

What is ‘The Perfect Pairing’ about?

In The Perfect Pairing, Christina inadvertently finds herself at a winery she slammed in an earlier review. She tries to make a quick getaway before anyone discovers who she really is. But she slips on some ice and hits her head as she’s making her escape, leading to a bout of amnesia

The Hollingbrooks take Christina in as she heals from her injury and tries to recover her lost memories. In return, she helps the family get ready for their annual wine tapping party. She also assists Michael with his risky passion project, ice wine.

While the Hollingbrook Winery is fictional, fans of The Perfect Pairing can still sip a wine inspired by the movie.

“The Perfect Pairing” is a sweet dessert wine and the latest addition to Hallmark Channel’s lineup of wines, which already includes a cabernet sauvignon (Jingle), a sauvignon blanc (Joy), and rosé (Blush). It is a late-harvest sauvignon blanc made from nearly frozen grapes. The wine has a “rich golden color and tropical fruit flavors are balanced by sweet overtones,” according to Hallmark Channel. It’s available for $19 per bottle at HallmarkChannelWines.com.

“The launch of ‘The Perfect Pairing’ is so exciting for our team and truly a labor of love,” Hallmark Channel Wines winemaker Andrew Nelson said in a statement. “While our previous wine lineup always took inspiration from the Hallmark Channel’s existing oeuvre, this is the very first time that our wine is highlighted within an original movie in this manner. It is a special experience that viewers can see the wine on screen, and then directly purchase it to taste in real life.”
