‘The Pioneer Woman’ Ree Drummond Made This Delicious Chocolate Cheesecake for Her Father
The Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond loves to cook for her family. One tasty treat the Food Network star makes for her father is a chocolate cheesecake topped with cherries. She recently posted a photo of the desert on her Instagram page. Here are all the details on her famous cheesecake.
Ree Drummond made a special dessert for her father
In a recent episode of The Pioneer Woman, Ree stopped by her father’s house so she could bring him and his wife, Patsy, a special meal. She made creamy chicken cacciatore soup, parmesan herb drop biscuits and Italian salad with parmesan crisps and green olive dressing. For dessert, she made dark chocolate cheesecake. This was a real treat for her dad, who loves chocolate. Here’s what Ree posted on Instagram:
I made this very small (have you ever used a 6-inch springform pan? So cute!) chocolate cherry cheesecake for my dad and Patsy recently, and Todd and I delivered it, along with soup, salad, and biscuits. The whole shebang is captured on a brand new episode of The Pioneer Woman on @foodnetwork Saturday morning at 10 Eastern/9 Central! I had to lead this post with a pic of the dessert, because chocolate is all that really matters to my dad anyway. (The apple didn’t fall far from the tree on that one…) See you on the teevee!
What Ree Drummond makes for Ladd on Father’s Day
In an interview for Us Weekly, Ree said she likes to make something special for Ladd each Father’s Day. She mentioned she doesn’t get specific meal requests from her husband because she’s already familiar with his preferences. “For Father’s Day it’s always a home-cooked dinner. Ladd never requests things, but he doesn’t have to because I know what he wants,” she told the publication.
What’s on the menu for Ladd’s Father’s Day meal? You won’t be surprised to learn it involves steak and starch. “Steak, an iceberg wedge salad, some kind of really delicious biscuit or warm bread … and then some kind of hot or warm chocolate cake,” said Ree in her Us Weekly interview. “Ladd’s very much meat and potatoes and that’s where he lives,” she added.

Ingredients:
- 5 chocolate graham crackers
- 4 tablespoons salted butter, melted
- 2 ounces 70% dark chocolate
- 12 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup canned cherry pie filling
- 1 sprig fresh mint, for garnish
