Ree Drummond is a first-time grandma! The Pioneer Woman‘s eldest daughter, Alex Drummond Scott, gave birth to a daughter, Sofia Marie, on Dec. 18, 2024.

Alex Drummond Scott has been documenting her first pregnancy on Instagram since announcing it earlier this year. She and her husband Mauricio Scott have been married since May 2021.

Over the past nine months, Alex has spoken about her excitement at welcoming a baby to her family. She included her family dog, George, in the day-to-day preparations for Sofia Marie’s arrival. The beloved family golden retriever was a big part of the birth announcement and gender reveal.

On Dec. 18, Alex shared the first pictures of Sofia via an Instagram slideshow. She wrote, “December 18th, 2024. At 2:27 am our perfect girl made her arrival a couple of weeks early, just in time for Christmas!”

She continued, “We are so in love and forever changed. Thank you, Lord.”

The images showed Alex and Mauricio cuddling with their newborn moments after she was delivered. The little girl had a small hospital cap atop her head with a large bow.

Ree Drummond and her husband Ladd were right there to welcome their first grandbaby

The Pioneer Woman star Ree Drummond was over the moon about her daughter Alex’s pregnancy. She shared a photo to her social media account of her and Ladd meeting their granddaughter for the first time.

Ree wrote, “Our first baby had her first baby. Thank you, Lord, we will never be the same.”

“My heart is exploding with happiness, so I couldn’t wait to share the news with you that Alex and Mauricio’s baby girl, Sofia, was born early this morning! My daughter just had a daughter. I’m honestly still trying to wrap my head (and heart) around it all,” the celebrity chef wrote on her official blog.

She added, “Alex did great, and so did Mauricio. We arrived in Dallas and got to see them in the hospital just as Alex was transitioning from latent to active labor, and it was so wonderful to see how much they love and support each other.”

2025 brings more changes for Ree and Ladd Drummond

Ree and Ladd Drummond are anticipating a big year ahead. They get to enjoy all of Sofia’s firsts and proudly watch as one of their children takes a big life step.

In August of this year, the couple’s second oldest daughter, Paige, announced her engagement to David Andersen. Pioneer Woman fans were first introduced to David back in January 2024, when Ree shared he attended the family’s annual winter trip to Colorado.

David made his official debut on Paige’s Instagram account in December 2023. She captioned a series of two photos, “You & me.” The couple will wed in May 2025.

Ree and Ladd’s children Alex, 27, and Paige, 25, are siblings to brothers Bryce, 21, Jamar, 21, and Todd, 20. The Pioneer Woman airs on Food Network.
