Ree Drummond Shows Fans ‘It’s Not All That Quiet’ on the Ranch as ‘The Pioneer Woman’ Star Drives Through a Herd of Cattle

Ree Drummond’s dogs get noisy once a day on the ranch

On March 9, Drummond took to Instagram to share a video of her Basset hounds barking and howling on the ranch. Her lab came by and quieted the canine chorus, however.

“This erupts once a day, Walter always starts it, and it lasts for about fifty seconds,” Drummond shared in the caption. “They have zero problems, their every need is met, and they are howling at air.”

She continued, “Watch for Lucy at the end, who was trying in vain to catch a nap. Reminds me of all the times I tried to nap during Bryce and Todd’s wrestling matches upstairs. Except those usually ended in tears. (Mine, not theirs.)”

The Pioneer Woman star’s fans loved to see the dogs in action. When one fan asked, “Is this at noon when the sirens go off?” Drummond responded, “Haha, yes!!”

Other followers commented, “Hahaha!!! It’s like a dog choir,” “They are serenading you!! Got to love bassets!,” and “This is hilarious … I love their looks at each other.”

“This is hysterical, thanks for sharing this,” another fan said. “Made me laugh and smile.”

Fans loved how Drummond’s dog Lucy silenced the Bassets

Some fans noted how Drummond’s dog Lucy was able to get the Bassets to settle down. When one follower commented, “Lucy came and shut it DOWN!!!,” Drummond responded, “YES SHE DID!!”

“So funny. Lucy came around the corner like, ‘What’s all this racket?!’ They all stopped immediately,” another person noted.

“I think Lucy deserves a treat. They stopped when she came along to ask WTH guys??” another follower commented.

Other fans remarked, “Lucy said ‘…the heck is going on over here?!’ I feel you, Lucy girl!” and “Lucy is like, ‘Can I have some quiet please.’”

Some of Drummond’s fans shared theories about the dogs’ howls

Drummond’s fans had plenty of theories about what her dogs were trying to tell her with their barks and howls.

Comments included, “They’re just telling you good morning,” “Mama let us in it’s cold outside,” and “They want to come in for a nap.”

Another follower joked, “They need to remind you of all the protection they are providing you! #guarddogs.”

“They want to know what you are making in there!” one fan guessed.

‘The Pioneer Woman’ star’s hounds are ranch helpers

Drummond often shares glimpses of her dogs in action on social media. In a Dec. 3, 2021 Instagram post, she posted a pic of her dogs helping on the ranch. “Ladd helped the Bassets feed cattle this morning. (They let him tag along from time to time, you see.),” she wrote in the caption.

She added, “Fred and Rusty keep this place running! According to them.”

Drummond’s daughter Alex summed it up perfectly, commenting, “MVPs of the ranch.”
