The culinary personality opened up on social media about her real feelings toward chocolate chip pancakes.

“I do not like chocolate chip pancakes *ducking*,” she tweeted. “The slight bitterness of the semisweet chocolate distracts from the already-perfect harmony that has been achieved between the soft, golden pancakes, the silky salted butter, and the warm, sweet syrup. Also, chocolate chip pancakes are totally grody to the max.”

She added that, while she attempted to explain her stance on the darker chocolate pancakes to her sons, the conversation was an unfortunately unsatisfying one.

“I tried to have this exact conversation with my teenage boys and their friends just now, as I reluctantly handed them plate after plate of the dreadful chocolate chip pancakes they had requested, but for some reason, they tuned me out? Thank you, Twitter—you are my family now.”

Her white chocolate berry pancakes are fun to make and eat

Drummond starts her pancakes by sifting all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl. In another bowl, eggs, sour cream, vanilla, and berry jam are combined.

“And since they’re white chocolate pancakes,” Drummond says in the Food Network video for this recipe, link below, “I’m going to add two tablespoons of white chocolate syrup.”

The Pioneer Woman star shared more of her feelings on pancakes in the video: “I mean, who doesn’t love pancakes? For me, I love plain pancakes just fine but the older I get, the zanier I get, the more I kind of like to add stuff to my pancakes.”

The dry and wet mixtures are stirred together: “I love the color that the berry preserves added to the batter,” Drummond said. At this point, white chocolate chips are stirred in.

“Heaping tablespoons of the batter” are added to a greased hot griddle. Cook the pancakes “until they’re golden, flip them over, and finish cooking them.”

She suggests serving the pancakes with a “dab” of butter, a few extra white chocolate chips, sliced strawberries, a few blueberries, and warm syrup. Whipped cream finishes off the dish.
