Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened in Disneyland and Disney World during 2019

Our Star Wars prayers have been answered. Earlier in 2019, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened in Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Similar to Pandora: The World of Avatar, this is an immersive experience, where attendees travel to the planet of Batuu to try exotic, neon milk and meet storm troopers. There are also two new theme park rides: Smuggler’s Run and the Rise of the Resistance.

Some Star Wars fans and celebrities traveled to this alien planet already, including the award-winning boy band, The Jonas Brothers. Recently, the cast of The Rise of Skywalker visited Batuu to ride Star Wars: The Rise of the Resistance, which is already open in Walt Disney World.

The latest ride to open in Disneyland and Disney World was Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

If you’ve dreamed of joining Rey, Finn, and Poe in their fight against the First Order, now is your chance. Rise of the Resistance puts riders in the middle of this power struggle, where they’ll come face to face with stormtroopers and even Kylo Ren.

This attraction opened in Walt Disney World this December. However, it’s only open to a select few in Disneyland in California. Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, and Oscar Isaac were among the few lucky people to ride the Rise of the Resistance before it opened in the theme park.

“The cast of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, along with director JJ Abrams, got a first look inside Star Wars: #RiseOfTheResistance at [Disneyland] park! The attraction opens Jan. 17, 2020 at Disneyland and today, Dec. 5., at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Star Wars: #TheRiseOfSkywalker hits theaters Dec. 20,” Star Wars shared on Instagram.

The cast of ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ visited Galaxy’s Edge and its new ride

These actors took a break from fighting the First Order to visit this theme park. Ahead of The Rise of Skywalker’s theatrical release, some cast members visited Disneyland to ride Rise of the Resistance. That includes Anthony Daniels, Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, director J.J. Abrams, Daisy Ridley, Kelly Marie Tran, Naomi Ackie, and Keri Russell.

Other attractions in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge are currently available for visitors to enjoy. However, the attraction does not officially open in Disneyland until January 2020. Needless to say, some fans of the sequel trilogy were pretty jealous.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres in theaters on Dec. 20, 2019. Until then, fans can visit Galaxy’s Edge, now open in Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, and Disneyland in California.
