The Royal Family Is Sending Mixed Messages In Public Appearances
As we are all well aware, the world is going through an extremely rough time right now. We must take every preventative measure in order to help stop the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible, and the royals are no exception to this rule. It is really no secret that every royal makes a fashion statement whenever he or she steps out in front of the cameras, whether it is for a casual outing or a formal engagement. It may seem as if the members of the British Monarchy live pretty charmed lives, and most of the time, they do. Royals are often exempt from some protocol that the rest of us have to follow, for example, many fans know that Queen Elizabeth doesn’t even need a driver’s license like everyone else does. However, there are other guidelines that they are expected to follow at all times, especially in the middle of a major pandemic. Now, it is being thought that the royal family is sending mixed messages in public appearances.
The royals have spoken about the COVID-19 crisis
The pandemic has affected so many people throughout the world, so it is only natural that the members of the royal family are speaking about everything that has been going on. In fact, in addition to keeping fans up to date about how they passed the time during the recent lockdown, Prince Charles and Prince William have tested positive for the virus, proving that even future kings are not immune to COVID-19. Queen Elizabeth has released several statements since the pandemic began, saying months ago that although most places, including churches, were shut down, “this year, Easter will be different for many of us, but by keeping apart we keep others safe.” According to USA Today, her Majesty went on to say that “We know that coronavirus will not overcome us. As dark as death can be — particularly for those suffering from grief — light and life are greater.” As everyone knows, the pandemic has affected billions of people all over the world, and the royals seem to know all too well just how difficult it has been for people everywhere.
They have been frequently seen in public without masks
As usual, the royals have taken steps to do whatever they can to help people during these trying times. From visiting hospitals to offering words of comfort, the family members have been quite open about the support they have for the British people. So, what have they done? Well, Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank packed up food to be sent to the Salvation Army’s food banks across the United Kingdom, according to Insider. Even one of the younger royals, Princess Charlotte, jumped at the chance to help by delivering packages of food to those who were self-isolating. How sweet! Even so, despite the royal family’s efforts to help wherever possible, many fans have been quite concerned about the fact that some of them are often seen without face masks in public.
The royal family is sending mixed messages in public appearances
Are the members of the royal family sending mixed messages? It would appear so! While face masks are not required everywhere in the United Kingdom, they are required in England, and royals are not always abiding by this rule. In addition, they are not always practicing social distancing, and this may be suggesting that they are not taking the pandemic as seriously as they should. Recently, Queen Elizabeth stepped out for her first public appearance in months sans a face mask, and Prince William did the same, something that raised quite a few eyebrows, according to Cosmopolitan. While we know that wearing a mask isn’t always convenient, we can only hope that the royals choose to always wear face coverings going forward until the pandemic is finally controlled.
