The Sad Reason Tom Brooks Didn’t Want to Do ’90 Day Fiancé’ With Darcey Silva

90 Day Fiancé fans watched Tom Brooks and Darcey Silva go through an ugly, drawn-out breakup. And their interactions during the Before the 90 Days “Tell-All” weren’t much better.

Shortly after the “Tell-All” aired, Tom did an interview with The Domenick Nati Show and spoke about how he’d never wanted to appear on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days in the first place.

“I never wanted to be on the show,” he said on June 7.

For three months Tom says he told Darcey no. Then, one night, when he was drunk, she asked again, he said yes and did his first 90 Day Fiancé interview.  

“I got so drunk on a Friday night and I rang her and we were talking. And I think that was my audition but I don’t remember much of it. All I remember is someone walking past the screen with a pot-belly and I was making fun of it. And a guy with a beard I was making fun of how long his beard was. That’s it,” he said.

The phone call got Tom through to the next round of casting. He did his second interview also intoxicated.

“And then the second time again, it was another Friday night and I was drunk. And I was talking to people. But the time difference, it was the morning [for them] and I didn’t know what I was saying. And the next thing I know I’ve been accepted on the show and I was like, ‘What show are you talking about?’” he explained.  

Tom went on to say that he didn’t understand the concept of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days. He says he didn’t know getting engaged was even a possibility.

“What’s worse is the whole series, I hadn’t watched it. I didn’t want to watch it. I thought it would cloud my judgment about who [Darcey] was as a person. Because I understand how things are put together,” he said.

Tom continued: “I didn’t actually realize the whole concept of the show. So when she’s saying, ‘Would you like to get married?’ And I’m going ‘What?’ I didn’t actually know that it was all about getting married or getting a green card, honestly.” 

A source claims Tom didn’t want to be on ’90 Day Fiancé’ because he was very sick

A source told Monsters & Critics that Tom didn’t want to go on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days with Darcey because he was extremely sick.

According to the source, Tom nearly didn’t film the third season of Before the 90 Days. The source didn’t specifically say what Tom was sick with, but they did say the reality TV star was admitted to the A&E (the British version of an emergency room) five times in 2018.

The source also told the publication that “Darcey begged [Tom] to film for months before he finally gave in and did it.”

“While Tom really loved Darcey and wanted to meet her, our source says that the timing of their first meeting was not great because he was clearly not at his best and needed more time to recover,” the publication reported.
