‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives:’ 1 Woman’s Situation Has Fans Extremely Concerned: ‘He Doesn’t Even Like Her’
Hulu’s newest reality TV drama, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, has quickly risen in popularity. The show follows the lives of women after the “Momtok” swingers scandal and fallout, with the face of the show being Taylor Frankie Paul — the mom who outed the swinging scandal to the public.
But it’s one other woman who fans paid closer attention to as season 1 came to a close. And now, they’re concerned about her well-being.
Fans are worried about Jen Affleck’s relationship with her husband, Zac
Throughout season 1, we learned one thing: The women like to talk about each other. And a big part of the Momtok group is the ladies’ desire to become more independent from their husbands. However, not everyone feels good about leaving those traditional Mormon values behind. In the case of Jen and Zac, it seriously threatened their relationship. While the women were in Vegas, Jessi suggested they go to a Chippendale’s show, and when Jen told Zac about the situation, he threatened to end their marriage.
Jen’s friends hated his words, but the season ended with Jen ultimately agreeing to relocate to New York for Zac’s medical career. But fans on Reddit don’t like what they saw.
“She should hold her ground a lot more,” one user said after it was revealed that Jen is the breadwinner between the couple.
“I think she’s in an awful situation,” someone else wrote.
“I genuinely think he doesn’t even like her … He doesn’t respect or consider her or her opinion on anything and it’s giving insecurity issues,” another user added. “Imagine the things he says behind closed doors?”
Zac threatened Jen with divorce and said that all of her friends’ relationships are messed up, but when things calmed down the night after the fight, Jen told her friends that she and Zac were doing really well. However, she proceeded to cry when her friends confronted her about the fight.
It’s unclear if Jen will be in season 2 of ‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’
The season 1 finale saw some major changes, with Taylor having her baby, Whitney announcing her pregnancy, and Mayci officially launching her new business. However, things with Jen seem up in the air. She told Zac she had reservations about going to New York because she feels at home with Momtok and knows it can provide for them, but he said he didn’t “really care.”
At the end of the final episode, it was revealed that Jen had gone to New York and was distancing herself from Momtok. With that said, it’s unclear if she’ll make an appearance in the show’s second season.
