The ‘Sex and the City’ Reboot: Early Photos Suggest Charlotte York Has a New Dog
And Just Like That…, the Sex and the City reboot is officially in production. The first snaps of Charlotte York, Carrie Bradshaw, and Miranda Hobbes have started to make the rounds. Ardent fans of the show quickly noticed that Kristin Davis, the actor who portrays Charlotte, is on set with a new dog. So, have the Goldenblatts gotten a new furry friend?

HBO Max previously teased new characters for their Sex and the City reboot, And Just Like That…, but they never mentioned a new dog. Photos from the first days of filming appear to reveal that Charlotte has a new four-legged friend in her life. Davis has been spotted on set walking with an English Bulldog.
Little is known about the Bulldog and how it will play into the show’s storyline. In fact, fans know surprisingly little about the upcoming series. HBO Max has been very careful about sharing storyline information. We know that And Just Like That… will follow Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda during the pandemic. The three main characters will be joined by their major love interests and some old and new friends, too.
How many pets were featured on ‘Sex and the City’?
While fans wait to see whether the Goldenblatt family has a new pet, there are a few pets to check out in the original series. Sex and the City wasn’t exactly pet-friendly, but there were more than a few animals in the show’s six-season run. Miranda and Charlotte were the only main characters to have pets. Miranda had a cat named Fatty for the duration of the series. Charlotte briefly had a dog named Henry, a Jack Russell Terrier. She eventually gave the pup away when he didn’t live up to her impossibly high standards. Later, she and Harry adopted a dog they named Elizabeth Taylor. She had several puppies.
A few love interests had pets, too. Aidan Shaw, Carrie’s ex-fiancee, was the proud owner of Pete, a Brittany Spaniel. Steve Brady, Miranda’s main love interest, adopted Scout, a Border Collie, while he and Miranda were dating. While Carrie Bradshaw and Samantha Jones didn’t have pets during the original series, Samantha did adopt a dog in Sex and the City: The Movie.
What happened to Charlotte’s dog, Elizabeth Taylor?
While the new pooch sure looks cute, fans of the original series cannot help but wonder what happened to Elizabeth Taylor. The answer is simple, Charlotte and Harry likely would have lost their beloved pet years ago. Elizabeth Taylor was a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. The pint-sized pups are sweet and certainly cute, but they also have a host of health issues.
According to Hello Bark, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are often affected by heart disease, hip dysplasia, and other problematic inherited health issues. The breed has a life expectancy of just 9 to 14 years. Elizabeth Taylor debuted on Sex and the City in 2004, more than 17 years ago. Sadly, for the Goldenblatts and Sex and the City fans, Elizabeth Taylor, the dog, has likely died.
