The ‘Sister Wives’ Cast Doesn’t Agree When It Comes to Casual Sex
The Brown family spent decades living as a polygamist group. Starting in 2021, the plural family began unraveling. As they’ve moved further away from the religion that led them to polygamy in the first place, the Sister Wives cast has gotten more honest about how little they agreed on over the years. While they are no longer living as a family, they still have plenty of disagreement. In fact, the group has very different thoughts on divorce and casual sex.
Christine Brown suggested Janelle Brown engage in casual sex to end her spiritual union
Christine Brown has done a complete 180 since Sister Wives began. When fans first met Christine, she was aghast at the notion of a couple so much as kissing before a wedding. Now, she’s suggesting casual sex is a good idea for her former sister wife, Janelle Brown.
During a recent episode, Christine Brown reminded fans that Robyn Brown insisted their religion doesn’t consider a couple divorced until the female partner has sex with someone else. When Robyn made the ascertain, she was talking about Christine and Kody’s split. Now, Christine thinks Janelle should use the information to “move on” from her marriage. She said she thinks Janelle should “skip” anything official and simply sleep with someone new to officially separate from Kody Brown. Janelle wasn’t thrilled with the suggestion.
Janelle and Meri disagree with Christine Brown
While Christine Brown seems to have changed her tune on casual sex, her former sister wives have not. Both Janelle Brown and Meri Brown disagree with the mother of six’s take on how to go about ending a spiritual union. Janelle made it clear that casual sex is not at all what she’s looking for, nor does she believe having a sexual relationship with someone would ultimately “unseal” her from Kody Brown. Janelle was open about not agreeing with the “dogma” way back in 2021 when Christine left Kody behind.
Meri Brown is on the same page as Janelle. She said that she believes both Robyn and Christine’s take on the religious “rule” is too literal. The small business owner said she thinks the “rule” actually applies to cheating in a committed marriage and not to a relationship that has already ended. Meri, who announced her split from Kody in 2023, opted to appeal to her former church for a spiritual divorce. It was granted. Season 19 of Sister Wives has touched on the topic.
