The Surprising Thing Kate Middleton Teases Prince William About
Prince William and Kate Middleton have become one of the world’s most popular couples and their fans love how relatable they appear to be at times.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge can be super sweet with one another but they also like to poke fun at each other and go back and forth with some banter. There’s one thing that Middleton loves to tease her husband about though that has surprised some people.
What the duchess teases William about
According to BBC Radio 1 star Clara Amfo, who met with the royal couple last year, William and Middleton love a good laugh and the duchess teases the prince about his hair.
“Kate had no qualms making fun of William’s hair situation,” Amfo told Hello!. “And he took that. There was a lot of banter around that, it was very funny!”
She added that “Prince William is the most fun royal that I’ve met. He’s got a lot of banter actually. He’s a very funny guy. And the banter between him and Kate — his and Kate’s energy is really funny. They vibe off each other very well. They were like a really loving, comedy act.”
Amfo admitted that she was nervous about meeting them at first but felt comfortable as soon as she started chatting with them.
“It’s always a little bit nerve-wracking, but I think the great thing about them is that once you start talking to them, you quickly realize that they’re just like you and me,” she said.
Their humor is ‘naughty’ and ‘dirty’
It seems that the two can joke about anything and we know William was initially drawn to Middleton’s humor which he described as “dirty” and “naughty.”
“She’s got a really naughty sense of humor which really helps me because I’ve got a really dirty sense of humor so it was good fun, we had a really good laugh, and then things happened,” the prince said during their 2010 post-engagement interview.
His admission might have embarrassed his then-fiancé just a bit as she smiled awkwardly.
They have sweet nicknames for each other
In addition to their playful side, the pair can be very sweet as well and have even been heard calling one another cute little nicknames.
Attendants at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2016 said that the couple referred to each other as “babe” and “darling.”
Australian TV presenter and landscape gardener, Charlie Albone, told Grazia U.K. that when William asked Middleton about a plant she replied, “Babe, we’ve got those. We’ve got loads of those.”
Another one of the designers at the show, Margaret Knight, shared with Hello! that the prince stopped to look at poppies and asked the duchess, “Could you make one of these, darling?’”
