The Sweet Thing Mariska Hargitay Handed Out to Voters
Mariska Hargitay is doing what she can to encourage her fans and fellow voters to get out and vote. Her bio on Instagram even mentions voting: “Sending love to all. Stay safe and VOTE!!!”

Mariska Hargitay surprises voters and hands out a sweet thing
Hargitay has been known to encourage voting, and she’s taking things to the next level with her latest post on Instagram. While voters waited in line to vote early, Hargitay showed up with Milk Bar cookies and handed them out. She says she’s “happy to be here” as she continues handing out the sweets. She thanks everyone for coming out.
At one point, she starts tossing them to people in the crowd. “Who’s hungry? Who wants a cookie?” Hargitay asks. “Who says voting’s not fun?” She brings her upbeat spirit as she does it, making it quite the spectacle for those involved.
Hargitay wrote a caption on her post on Instagram explaining why she decided to “show up”: “We all know this election is incredibly important, which is why I wanted to show up to support my fellow New Yorkers. Lines are long and people are waiting for hours to exercise their civic duty-their right- so I wanted to surprise some voters at MSG with a little pick me up. It was the least I could do. I’m thankful that sports teams and venues have opened their doors this year to make safe, socially-distanced early voting a reality for so many Americans. It’s critical all of us make our voices heard. #WhoSaysVotingIsn’tFun #Vote.” She also shared the same video on Twitter as well.
Over 450,000 liked the post so far, and thousands commented with their thoughts. Even actors from Law & Order: SVU wrote a message of support for what Hargitay is doing.
