Eve spent years on ‘The Talk’

After achieving success in music and acting in the ’90s and early 2000s, the “Gotta Man” rapper transitioned into the talk show world.

She was brought on to The Talk in 2017 as a replacement for Aisha Tyler, joining co-hosts Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, and Sheryl Underwood (via Variety). However, Carrie Ann Inaba later stepped in following Chen and Gilbert’s exits.

Over the years, Eve has received praise for her candor and directness on topics such as her past as a stripper and her 2007 arrest for driving under the influence. But after three years on the panel, it looks like she’s ready to move on to other things.

Eve has decided to leave ‘The Talk

Eve announced that she will no longer appear on the show after December 2020. Explaining her decision, she said that travel restrictions related to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic have left her unable to leave London to film. The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native has been living there for a while with her husband, businessman Maximillion Cooper, whom she married in 2014.

“It’s been a crazy year, obviously for all of us,” Eve began. “And I’m so grateful that I’m able to stay here in London and do the show, but I can’t see for me, the foreseeable future of traveling back at the moment, and have decided that at the end of December, this will probably be my last time on the show, in this capacity as a host.”

She continued, “We’re on another lockdown from Thursday, and that’s another reason, obviously staying home has been such a blessing because my husband and I got to know each other in a different way, a beautiful way. So I want to be closer to him. I want to concentrate on expanding our family, being with my family.”
