Ana Navarro copes with her mother’s loss
The process of grieving is not an easy one, especially when it’s the loss of a parent. Navarro had been keeping her followers up to date with her mom’s health, sharing beautiful photos of happier times and remembering her mother’s greatest qualities.
In an Instagram post from Dec. 17, Navarro openly talked about how she was experiencing grief.
“The best I can describe grief is that it comes like the waves in the ocean,” she shared. “Sometimes the waters are calm. Other times, it feels like ripples or small waves. And then, there are moments when it feels like crashing waves so forceful, they may pull you under. I’m learning to just let go, ride the waves as they come, and keep my head above water.”
Navarro continued, “Losing my mom is really hard for my whole family. Sometimes I think her heart gave out from loving so much. I’m grateful for friends and loved ones I can lean on and a sweet poodle to hug. Thank you to all those who’ve reached out to support my family.”

Ana Navarro takes in Andrew Garfield’s words
Navarro’s mother had been ill for a couple of weeks and The View co-host was preparing herself for the time of her death. It was in November of this year that Andrew Garfield made an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The actor talked about grief and Navarro took in those words and shared the moment on Instagram.
“This is a beautiful and poignant explanation of embracing grief. I really needed to hear it, right now,” Navarro posted.
Garfield lost his mother and described grief in a beautiful way saying that crying was a beautiful thing because it was “all the unexpressed love… that will remain with us until we pass.”
“No matter if someone lives till 60… 15 or, 99… I hope this grief stays with me,” he added. “Because it’s all the unexpressed love that I didn’t get to tell her, and I told her every day, we all told her every day, she was the best of us.”
