‘The View’: Joy Behar Left Speechless After Meghan McCain Asked If She’d Vote for Her for President
It takes a lot for Joy Behar to remain silent on The View. The veteran co-host has been on the talk show since the beginning and is not afraid to speak her mind. She often spars with Meghan McCain as their political views are completely opposite. The conservative co-host finally said something that left the comedian without words and things got severely awkward.
The ladies were in their “Hot Topics” segment discussing Elizabeth Warren pulling out of the presidential race. Although McCain was never a Warren supporter, she felt sad that no other woman was left in the race.
“My dad told me, ‘you could be president Meghan.’ I feel like if I had a child right now, and it was a girl, I don’t know what I would say anymore because… where is my woman president? Like, why are we still here as Americans?” she said.
“Like, it’s frustrating. I’d love that it would be a conservative woman, like happy if it’s Nikki Haley or someone else. I do think women are better leaders because we’re more compassionate. Where is my woman president? I would like for a woman to be president in my lifetime,” McCain continued.
That’s when Behar intervened and said, “Maybe you should run then.”
“Would you vote for me Joy?” McCain asked.
Behar was left speechless and from her reaction, McCain shouldn’t count on her vote anytime soon.
Are Meghan McCain and Joy Behar friends?
Despite their heated debates at the “Hot Topics” table, McCain and Behar have a lovely friendship in contrast to the rumors reported about them.
“It really hurts my feelings!” McCain told Entertainment Tonight about reports she doesn’t like Behar. “It genuinely hurts my feelings because our dressing rooms are next door to each other and you and I have the same emotional reaction to things — sometimes in different ways — but we’re both upset equally, the equal amount of the same things. And I wish people would give us a break, for real.”
Behar had lovely words to say about McCain and even said she has influenced her on certain issues.
“Like today, I was talking about how, you know, I think a moderate needs to win the election to beat [President Donald] Trump. Originally, I would say I wanted Elizabeth Warren because she was new stuff and she was exciting. But I’m not sure that she could pull it off. So, now I’m in reality again and I think you have changed your positions a little bit, moderated them, modified,” Behar said.
Meghan McCain causing drama again?
There’s a new rumor that is suggesting that McCain is causing drama behind-the-scenes at The View. The report from Daily Mail says that before Abby Huntsman left, she dropped a major bombshell. She told the ladies that McCain was “using her husband to plant stories about the show.” All of the leaks from the show are from McCain, according to the insider.
“Abby told the ladies that Meghan loves playing the victim because she not only feels that it garners her sympathy as a hardcore conservative, but it deflects from people figuring out that she’s been the one manipulating everyone by leaking stories on the show all along,” the source told the publication.
The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET and 10 a.m. PT/CT on ABC.
