‘The View’: Meghan McCain Gets Personal in Her Birthday Tribute To Co-Host Sunny Hostin
Though Meghan McCain is on maternity leave from The View after welcoming her first child, Liberty Sage, with husband Ben Domenech, she is keeping up with her co-hosts. Recently giving a shout out to fellow panelist Sunny Hostin for her birthday, McCain doesn’t hold back on her adoration for her fellow panelist.

Hostin turned 52 on Oct. 20, proudly sporting a birthday pin during the show. While McCain is still enjoying time off with her baby daughter, she is clearly on top of important dates and posted a special message to her friend and co-host.
“Happy, happy, happy birthday @sunny,” McCain wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of herself with Hostin, referencing the menagerie of pets The View star and her husband have at home. “I hope you have an incredible day filled with bees, honey, chickens and all the farm animals you love! (I hope Manny finally got you a mini goat).”
The ABC legal analyst has often spoken of the benefits that come along with having your own mini farm.
“There’s something so magical about walking out of your home at 5:30 in the morning, opening up the coop, and there are eggs inside,” Hostin told People in 2018. “Anyone who raises chickens knows what I’m talking about.”
‘The View’ stars have no problem getting personal
McCain sang Hostin’s praised in her post, making it clear that the two are both colleagues and close pals.
“You are the most loyal friend, cool under pressure interviewer, the team mate you always want in your corner when s*it goes down – while always having total class in every situation,” the conservative co-host gushed. “I appreciate getting to work with you every day and all I continue to learn from you.”
Delivering her child on Sept. 28, McCain apparently had a specific prayer request of Hostin prior to the birth which involved a certain female body part.
“I also appreciate that when I was going into labor, I ask you to pray for my vagina – and you did to your catholic saints! 🤣 ” McCain revealed. “That’s friendship!” McCain noted. “I look forward to celebrating in person whenever we can with lots of bourbon! (Also you’re aging backwards!)”

Prior to Hostin’s birthday, McCain shared a heartfelt message on becoming a mom for the first time.
“Motherhood is euphoria,” she wrote on Instagram on Oct. 8. “All of the cliches have come true and exceeded well beyond my wildest expectations ~ it is hands down the best thing I have ever done in my entire life and I am completely in awe of our daughter.”
The View co-host described her pure joy on her family’s addition, also expressing her gratitude for her husband in her poetic post.
“Having Liberty is like observing my entire heart live and exist outside of my body,” McCain revealed. “She is a little wildcat ~ beautiful, strong, alert, already so full life and spirit… I only wish I had done this sooner. Thank you to my love Ben for giving me this gift and taking the leap on this wonderful and petrifying adventure together. I love our little family and I have never felt so blessed, present and grateful. This is the first time since my Dad passed that the part of my heart that broke off and left with him no longer feels missing. … I am beyond grateful and humbled. ♥️🗽”
McCain has not yet given a date on when she will return to her seat at The View.
