‘The View’: Live Feud Erupts After Meghan McCain Antagonizes Joy Behar
Meghan McCain and Joy Behar are back at each other’s throats again on The View. On Valentine’s Day when we’re all celebrating love, there was only feuding on the talk show. The ladies were talking politics on the “Hot Topics” table when things fired up and got out of hand. Once again, McCain tried to belittle Behar’s opinion by claiming she knows better.
How did the feud start?
The View sizzled this morning when McCain steered the conversation to try and bash Michael Bloomberg. The conservative host doesn’t feel he’s a strong candidate to take on Donald Trump in the presidential elections this fall. What pushed McCain over the edge was when Behar started saying why she was being so hard on the democratic candidates.
“Why are we so strict on Democrats and so lenient with Republicans, who have the most racist policies and the most racist track record?” Behar said. “This is a racist country, right? Every single one of [the Democrats] has something in their background that doesn’t look good for race.”
McCain replied saying, “I think the idea that [Bloomberg] is going to coast through this… You have to win over the mid-west and coal miners and people that are not attractive to the democratic coalition and Trump has that locked and loaded. “And I’m sorry, a guy that wants to take away your Slurpee, is gonna have a real problem in coal-mining towns!”
“And you know what? A guy who wants to take away your health care is even in worse shape!” Behar fired back.
“You know what, Joy? I’ve been right about election stuff and you’ve been wrong,” McCain replied. When Behar asked how she was wrong, she said, “you thought Trump was going to lose in 2016 and I didn’t.”
“Me and 100 million people,” Behar added. “He did actually lose, you know? We remind him… three million votes against him.”
McCain then went the condescending route against the veteran View co-host.
“Does that make you feel good at night? He’s still in the White House. It’s a ridiculous thing to say every single day on this show. He is president, move on!” McCain shouted.
“Everyone on this panel repeats themselves, ok?” Behar replied.
“You’re trying to make yourself feel better, it’s weird,” McCain then said.
“I don’t want to make myself feel better, I want him out!” Behar said sternly to a cheering audience.
Meghan McCain
This was not the first time this week that McCain hinted that Behar knows nothing about politics. Earlier in the week the ladies were once again talking about the democratic candidates for president. Behar believes that any candidate representing the Democratic Party will win over Trump, but McCain disagrees with Bernie Sanders.
“I’m sorry, the establishment democrats don’t want Bernie to be [the nominee]. Bernie Sanders supporters are going to go absolutely insane at the idea that it’s going to be taken from them,” McCain said.
Despite McCain’s negativity, Behar stood by her initial comment about the party she supports.
“I think if you think Bernie Sanders and his coalition of Bernie Bros are going to let this one go… this is his last hurrah. If he doesn’t make it, he’s never going to happen. If you think they’re going to go down quietly, you don’t know anything about politics,” McCain continued.
“I think that any Democrat would do better than this guy who is absolutely going to destroy the country,” Behar replied.
The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET and 10 a.m. CT/PT on ABC.
