‘The View’ Co-Host Meghan McCain Shares Rare Pregnancy Detail
Meghan McCain is enjoying her time off The View by tweeting about politics. The conservative co-host might not be getting paid to debate about political happenings but she does it for fun on her time off the show. McCain, along with the rest of the panelists, is on hiatus and will return in September. The Republican pundit is also pregnant but has remained relatively mum with details about her road to motherhood. However, she let a tiny deet about what she’s craving.
Why is Meghan McCain not sharing anything about her baby?
McCain loves to talk about politics on the daytime talk show she shares with Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, and Sunny Hostin. The topic that she seems to shy away from is her pregnancy. Although the co-hosts are encouraged to share details about their personal life, McCain has opted not to divulge about her gestational period.
“Ben and I have made the conscious decision to guard our (growing) families’ privacy as much as is possible,” McCain posted on Instagram. “I believe children have a right to privacy and hope you will all understand as we navigate this as much as possible going forward without sacrificing our comfort or safety.”
The political analyst knows what it’s like to live under the public eye and wants to protect her child’s privacy as much as she can. McCain understands the irony about being in a daytime talk show and not talking about her own life.
“I know this is an unorthodox choice for a talk show host who is on TV five days a week – but I’ve always lived by the beat of my own drum,” she continued. “Thank you for the continued kind words, support and prayers regarding my pregnancy from so many of you who are nothing but kind. It has meant a lot during this crazy time.”
Meghan McCain slips rare details
Despite trying to remain mum about her time as a pregnant woman, McCain has let some details slip. It’s only natural that she TV personality talks about her pregnancy as it is something that she and her family had hoped for.
Back in June, McCain posted on Instagram Stories about her baby moving around her womb. The sweet update was one of the few glimpses The View star has shared with her fans.
“My baby moves around inside me all day like a wildcat…,” she posted. “Wild in the womb. I should have expected nothing less from the spawn of me and Ben. Mothers, this is a truly special and paradigm-shifting thing to experience…”
Another update came recently when she tweeted about the cravings she has during her pregnancy.
“I’m pregnant as holy hell and would just like to personally thank Dairy Queen for bringing the cotton candy dipped cone into my life this summer,” she said. “Not everything is 2020 is garbage.”
S.E. Cupp replied to her saying, “Get it mama.”
“It’s a game changer,” McCain tweeted back. “As is the mint Oreo blizzard.”
“All I want is Dairy Queen,” McCain said in another tweet giving fans a rare glimpse into her pregnancy cravings.
The View is set to return in September after Labor Day at 11 a.m. ET and 10 a.m. CT/PT on ABC.
