‘The View’ Season 24 Premiere Date: Meghan McCain Confirms Return of Live Episodes
Meghan McCain has confirmed the premiere date of The View Season 24. The show has been on summer hiatus for the month of August and fans are longing for its return. ABC has been airing reruns during the hosts’ time off but that is going to change very soon. The network made a promo to announce when the talk show will be back with live episodes and McCain retweeted that exciting message.
When is ‘The View’ returning?
It’s been a long August without the ladies of The View dissecting all the political noise on the road to elections. Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and McCain have been off the airwaves taking a much-needed break from their daily show appearances.
On July 31, the show aired a reel of bloopers from the co-hosts broadcasting from home in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic. McCain took to Twitter to confirm it had been the show’s last original episode from season 23.
“Thank you for a really wild, intense but memorable season. Today is our last episode and we are on hiatus for the summer,” McCain tweeted. “Grateful for this platform, my co-hosts, our fearless The View team, and one of the last truly uncensored spaces in all of television. See you in September!”
With the end of August fast approaching, The View pulled up a new promo to announce the impending return and premiere of season 24.
“The amazing new season of your Emmy-winning View is almost here,” the promo says. “A brand new season starts September 8th on ABC.”
McCain retweeted the view from the official View account to much fanfare.
Meghan McCain is returning
If it wasn’t obvious already, McCain is returning to the show despite a small sector of fans requesting otherwise. Many believed the conservative co-host was not coming back as she is pregnant and close to giving birth. McCain recently confirmed she was not out of the show despite the rumors.
“Why does everyone ask me if I’m getting fired or quitting every 20 seconds?” she told Andy Cohen during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live. “No other host has to deal with this BS. Yes, I’m coming back. It’s an election cycle.”
McCain made that statement on the Bravo late-night show as she feels it’s a double standard. The Republican pundit pointed out that her husband doesn’t get grilled about wether he is returning to work after having a baby.
“Super jealous no one is grilling my husband if he plans on continuing to work after our child is born,” she tweeted.
McCain has been relatively quiet about her pregnancy, which is something she talked about earlier this year. She announced she was deciding not to give details about her road to motherhood for privacy concerns. McCain knows that social media is gruesome and anything that she puts out there could be used against her in the future.
Although The View has not officially announced the return of Sara Haines to the show, she is expected to make a comeback for season 24. ABC has not confirmed if there would be any other additions to the cast.
The View returns with live episodes on Tuesday, September 8 at 11 a.m. ET and 10 a.m. PT/CT on ABC.
