‘The Voice’: How Nick Jonas Is Bringing in the Rest of the Jonas Brothers to Help His Team in Season 18
The last season of The Voice ended with Team Kelly Clarkson winning with Jake Hoot. Now there is a new threat to the title because Nick Jonas is taking Gwen Stefani’s place.
The rest of the Jonas Brothers will also make an appearance. Find out how and other singers who will help out the teams.
Nick Jonas is replacing Gwen Stefani on ‘The Voice’
Stefani was able to coach again on the last season of The Voice. However, she won’t be returning for season 18 and Jonas will be taking her place. This announcement was made on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
“I am so excited about this,” he said. “You’re basically the first people I’ve told, so thank you for being a part of this special moment for me.” Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, and John Legend made videos to send him a message.
“Nick Jonas! How you doin’, buddy? I heard that you’re going to be a new coach on The Voice and I wanted to say congratulations I guess,” Shelton said. “I’m going to have to look through the rules because this is my TV show,” he joked. “I’m not even sure if you’re old enough to be a coach on The Voice, but I’m certain that you’re going to get your butt kicked, buddy.”
The other coaches were nicer. “Our mission is to destroy Blake Shelton. We have to form an alliance. Me, you, Kelly,” Legend said. Clarkson seemed on board with this plan.
Joe and Kevin Jonas will be battle advisors
The older brothers will also get in the mix next season. Kevin and Joe will be battle advisors for Nick’s team. Legend will have Ella Mai, Clarkson will have Dua Lipa, and Shelton will have Bebe Rexha.
The new coach also announced the big news with a video on Twitter. “Well it’s that time to tell you exactly who my advisors are, my mentors are for my team. These two guys are some of the most trusted people in my life. It’s Hall & Oates. Just kidding it’s Kevin and Joe Jonas!” said Nick.
Both Kevin and Joe said hello to the camera. “These guys are my brothers, my bandmates, my best friends. And they’re going to help me take Team Nick to the next level,” he continued.
Joe said they’re coming for that trophy then asked if there is a trophy. Obviously they’re very new to the competition, but maybe they’ll catch on quickly.
The other coaches made their own announcements
Legend tweeted about his own advisor. “Did you guess right? @EllaMai gave #TeamLegend some great notes during rehearsals. I can’t wait to share the end performances!” the EGOT winner teased.
Clarkson tweeted at Dua Lipa, “I’m almost upset that you’re so lovely plus you’re super hot Thank you for caring about these artists and really listening and being present with them! You’re not just super talented, you’re a rad human also, still listening to #DontStartNow on repeat like a stalker.”
Shelton tweeted, “Who guessed it!?? IT’S @BEBEREXHA!! If you guessed it was her then a big HELL RIGHT to you!!!!”
Will Team Nick have an edge over the competition since he has two advisors? Fans will have to wait and see how this plays out.
