The blind auditions of The Voice are over so every team is filled. Kelly Clarkson has a strong record of winning and she might do it all over again. That’s because she got a young singer on her team that reminded people of her past winners. [Warning spoilers for the Nov. 2 episode!]

Clarkson has a strong resume when it comes to coaching on The Voice. Her team won season 14 with Brynn Cartelli winning. Cartelli was 15 years old and became the youngest person to ever win the show. The coach then won a second time in season 15 with Chevel Shepherd, who was 16 years old.

The talk show host has proven to help other artists get a win. She later coached Jake Hoot to winning season 17. But it can’t be denied that Clarkson has a special touch to coaching young girls and the audience likes to vote for them.

Skylar Alyvia Mayton joined her team

Skylar Alyvia Mayton sang “Blinding Lights” by The Weeknd and it didn’t take long at all for Clarkson to hit her button. None of the other coaches turned their chairs.

Mayton revealed she was just 15 years old after the performance. Clarkson went on to thank John Legend, Blake Shelton, and Gwen Stefani for not turning their chairs.

“You won with two 15 year olds, right?” Shelton asked. “No, 15 and 16,” she answered. “Ohhh I was way off,” Shelton joked.

“I’m so stoked to know that you’re that gifted that young. It’s really awesome,” Clarkson told Mayton. “I turned around for Skylar because I did love her ethereal tone. When I find out she’s like 15 I’m like ‘Oh my god, you’re already capable of this?'” the coach told the camera.

She isn’t the only young artist this season

Mayton isn’t the only young artist to impress the judges this season. Larriah Jackson performed “I’ll Be There” by the Jackson 5. Stefani was the only one to turn her chair for the 15-year-old singer.

“Everybody knows that I just want a daughter. Is that weird?” Stefani told her. “I mean your singing talent is just so unbelievable. Your voice is so rich and warm and dreamy. And you have so much range and I know that this is meant to be so I’m really excited.”

The coach also has 16-year-old Lauren Frihauf on her team. She performed Melissa Etheridge’s “Come to My Window.” Her raspy voice also got Legend to turn his chair. The coaches admitted they expected to see a very different person from young Frihauf.

Stefani told her that her voice has so much personality. “You’re like my dream person to work with on this show,” she told her.

So Mayton has a lot of competition on her hands. But Clarkson might be able to coach another young girl to winning again.
