‘The Voice’: Kelly Clarkson Says She’s Tired of Getting ‘Beaten up’ by Ariana Fans
The Voice added Ariana Grande to the cast. That means a lot of her fans are tuning in to support her team. However, that also means there are more fans rooting against the other coaches. Kelly Clarkson said she’s tired of getting beaten up by Grande’s fans in a recent episode.
Ariana Grande is a new coach on ‘The Voice’
Grande is coaching for the first time for season 21. This is the first new female coach for some time, and Clarkson talked about being excited about the change.
“I love having another female [on the panel],” Clarkson told Entertainment Tonight. “I’ve done it with all the guys, and it’s cool…but I like having the female energy to kind of bounce off of. I’m a girls’ girl. I have a lot of girlfriends, so I’m welcoming of that.”
Clarkson has been enjoying Grande, but she’s still her competition. Clarkson said she’s had to deal with Grande’s passionate fans this season in the recent episode.
Kelly Clarkson says she’s tired of getting ‘beaten up’ by Ariana fans
The Oct. 6 episode showed the last of the blind auditions. Grande was impressed by a trio named KCK3. They sang her song “No Tears Left to Cry” and it didn’t take long for her to turn around. No other coach turned around for them, and they explained why.
“I think there’s an obvious reason here why none of us turned around,” Clarkson said. “This is the kindest thing you all have ever done for me,” Grande told the other coaches.
The sisters are from Brandon, Mississippi. Kyla is 19 years old, Chelsea is 26 years old, and Kaitlynn is 17 years old. The sisters said they’ve always sung together, and it runs in their family.
“There are two reasons why I didn’t turn around,” Clarkson said. “There is the obvious. I am completely tired of just getting beaten up by Ariana fans. And then two, I already have a group. I want to kind of leave that lane for them.”
She added, “But I think you did a really great job, and I can’t wait to see what you do on the show.” Grande made sure to say “That’s not true!” to Clarkson.
Ariana Grande filled her team on ‘The Voice’
The trio filled the last spot on her team. Therefore her time picking artists is over. “I love my team,” Grande said in the episode. “I think I have a very interesting team, sonically. They all have really interesting, unique voices, and I’m excited about the female energy.”
Her artists are Bella DeNapoli, Chavon Rodgers, David Vogel, Hailey Mia, Jim, and Sasha Allen, Katherine Ann Mohler, Katie Rae, KCK3, Ryleigh Plank, Sophia Bromberg, and Vaugn Mugol.
Grande made sure to drop her mic in front of Blake Shelton. She also said she’s ready for battles, and it looks like she sees the country star as the coach to beat this season.
