[Spoiler alert: The following story contains spoilers for The Voice Season 21 finale part two.]
Jennifer Lopez, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, and more performed
Coldplay took to the stage first with their new single “My Universe” alongside BTS — sort of. The act featured incredible holographic versions of the K-Pop band. Their energetic performance certainly set the mood for the rest of the evening.
Country singer Walker Hayes brought a rendition of his hit song “Fancy Like,” complete with red solo cups and great vibes. The audience couldn’t help but clap along — and Blake couldn’t help but show a little jealousy that he wasn’t the night’s big country star.
Matthew McConaughey and Nick Kroll surprised fans with an appearance to introduce Sing 2 stars Keke Palmer and Tori Kelly, who performed “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).” The Voice Season 21’s Top 13 brought the holiday spirit with some background vocals.
The Voice Season 21 Mega Mentor Ed Sheeran performed an acoustic rendition of “Shivers” using not only a guitar, but also a keyboard and his mixing skills. Later, Jennifer Lopez made her debut on The Voice with “On My Way,” a tune from her upcoming film Marry Me.
John took to the stage with country sensation Carrie Underwood for a rendition of their Christmas song “Hallelujah,” bringing some emotion to the evening.
Alicia Keys, a former coach, returned to The Voice stage with a rendition of “Old Memories.” Newcomer coach Ariana also had a moment on stage with Kid Cudi, where the two performed their new collaboration “Just Look Up.”
The Top 5 singers joined their coaches on stage for stunning duets
Hailey Mia took to the stage with Kelly, performing Jasmine Thompson and Zedd’s “Funny.” The 14-year-old artist wowed the audience once again with her story-teller style, and she harmonized perfectly with her coach. Reminiscing about their time together, Kelly said the young singer reminded her of her own daughter.
Next, Paris Winningham looked back on his season alongside Blake. The coach said he’s “learned a lot” from Paris and said the soulful artist deserved to win. They performed a pumped-up rendition of “Love Train” by The O-Jays, showcasing Paris’s contagious energy.
The Voice Season 21 finale continued with Jershika Maple and her coach, John. John complimented the singer for rising to the challenge each week, no matter what he threw at her. The two kept the holiday vibes moving on stage with “O Holy Night.”
Girl Named Tom, the only trio to make it this far in the competition, gathered with Kelly to look back on season 21. Kelly said their family dynamic helped bring comfort to rehearsals — she even planned to join the group and turn it into GNTK. They sang Marshmello and Jonas Brothers’ “Leave Before You Love Me,” proving that Kelly would make a great addition to the band.
Powerhouse Wendy Moten said it’s been “amazing” to work alongside Blake, while Blake said Wendy has been the easiest singer to coach in all 21 seasons. The two belted out one final performance together — Christina Aguilera’s “Just a Fool,” showing off Wendy’s tender side.
