Season 27 of The Voice debuts with an entirely new group of performers looking to make their music dreams come true. But first, they have to make it past the Blind Auditions and coaches Kelsea Ballerini, Adam Levine, Michael Bublé, and John Legend. Will any of the new competitors perform tunes from the top 12 music industry icons who earned the most chair turns on the NBC singing series?

The dynamite dozen whose songs are most covered by contestants during ‘The Voice’ blind auditions

Action Network shared a detailed list of the most popular performers covered on The Voice. These music legends are relied on by new contestants to get at least one chair turn.

These performers were ranked by the number of times their songs have been covered since The Voice began in 2011. From rock to pop, soul to funk, here are the singers and songwriters contestants always rely on.

At the top of the list is Bruno Mars, whose songs have been covered 39 times. Following is Bob Dylan with 37 covers, Adele with 36, and Fleetwood Mac and Sam Smith with 33.

Ed Sheeran comes in at 28, followed by Elton John who ties with The Beatles at 27. Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and Taylor Swift have had their songs covered 26 times each. Kelly Clarkson rounds out the top 12 with 25 covers.

‘The Voice’ Coaches Who Lasted 2 Seasons or Less

Kelly Clarkson was a coach on The Voice during seasons 14-21 and 23. She was also an advisor during season 2 with Miranda Lambert.

Bruno Mars performed on The Voice in 2014 and 2016. He sang his hit songs “Uptown Funk” and “24K Magic” during those seasons’ finales. Ed Sheeran performed his single “Sing” in 2014 and sang a duet with contestant Christina Grimmie of “All of the Stars.” Sheeran performed his song “Shivers” during the season 21 live finale and was the show’s mega mentor. 

Taylor Swift appeared as a coach twice on the show. Her first appearance was in 2014, acting as a superstar advisor for all four teams, and her second was in 2019 as a mega coach. During season 17, Swift performed “ME!” alongside Brendon Urie.

‘The Voice’ blind auditions begin tonight

Season 27 of The Voice premieres tonight. During the first episode, coaches will listen to the first round of Blind Auditions and start to build Team Adam, Team Michael, Team Kelsea, and Team John.

The NBC series returns on Monday, Feb. 10 for the second part of the series’ Blind Auditions. In Season 27, there will be five total rounds of Blinds before the chosen artists advance to The Battles. 

The Voice is not airing an episode on Tuesday night this week, per NBC.  These installments won’t begin until later in the season.
