‘The Voices’: Why Anna Kendrick Said Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively Are ‘Sinfully Good Together’
Anna Kendrick starred in a 2014 Ryan Reynolds movie, The Voices. In the dark comedy, she played his character, Jerry Hickfang’s love interest, Lisa. Several years later, the Pitch Perfect star went on to work with the Proposal star’s wife, Blake Lively. They co-starred in 2018’s A Simple Favor.
After working with the power couple on separate projects, Kendrick shared her thoughts on why their marriage is successful. The pair have been married since 2012.

Kendrick and Reynolds got to know each other on the set of The Voices. At the time, both actors had experience with on-screen romances. However, their chemistry resonated with fans when they started working together. After the movie premiered, the actors engaged with each other via social media, per Insider.
In 2015, a fan asked Reynolds about kissing Kendrick. He described locking lips with his co-star as “ like taking your face to Awesometown.”
Following his tweet, Kendrick replied to her co-star on the social media site.
“That IS the Kendrick-train guarantee,” she tweeted. “With local stops in Awkwardville and Tolerableshire.”

Although they met when Kendrick was 19, she and Lively didn’t act together until they both had established careers. On Sept. 14, 2018, the actors’ movie, A Simple Favor, premiered. Kendrick stars as Stephanie Smothers, a small-town vlogger. She and her PR executive friend, Emily Nelson (Lively), shared a kiss.
Before its release, Lively and Kendrick promoted the film together. According to Entertainment Tonight, the Twilight star has a pleasant experience kissing the Gossip Girl alum. She said that both she and Lively ate mints before their intimate scene.
“All I’m ever thinking about in (kissing) scenes is, who has gum? Who has a mint? And I think Blake is probably the same because I’ve never experienced a guy, like, searching for a mint and searching for gum,” she said. “So, we were the mintiest, freshest two people to have ever kissed in the history of America. Call Guinness.”
Kendrick also added that “it was a fun day,” kissing her co-star.
‘They’re just like, just sinfully good together’
During her promotion for A Simple Favor, Kendrick appeared on Late Night With Seth Meyers. In her interview, she described working with both Reynolds and Lively on separate projects. She said that she noticed Reynolds during The Voices was his “dark” sense of humor.
Once she and Lively joined forces, Kendrick said The Town star possesses the same characteristics as her husband.
“Ryan’s like, very dark and funny,” she revealed. “And then when I finally worked with [Lively], I was like, ‘Oh, she’s really dark and funny too, actually.'”
“So you know, they’re just like, just sinfully good together,” Kendrick continued.
