‘The Way Home’ Season 3 Is Coming to Hallmark Channel in January 2025
Hallmark Channel is reversing course. Following a fan outcry about its decision to stream The Way Home Season 3 on Hallmark+ months before airing it on TV, the network has reconsidered that decision. New episodes of the time-travel drama will now air on Hallmark in January 2025.
Hallmark made a big decision about ‘The Way Home’
In late November, Hallmark stunned fans of The Way Home when it revealed that season 3 would premiere in January exclusively on its recently rebranded streaming service, Hallmark+. The new episodes would not come to Hallmark Channel until fall 2025.
Loyal viewers of the show – which stars Chyler Leigh as a woman who discovers that a pond on her family’s farm is a time portal – were not pleased with the decision. Many took to social media to complain that they could not afford to sign up for another streaming service and that it was unfair to make them wait months to see the new season on TV.

Hallmark heard the fan outcry about shifting The Way Home Season 3 to Hallmark+. A few weeks later, it reversed its decision.
“Due to overwhelming demand for this beloved hit series, we’re excited to share that The Way Home Season 3 will premiere Friday, January 3 at 9/8c on @HallmarkChannel and you can stream it the next day on @HallmarkPlus! Now you can watch it however and whenever you want!” read a Dec. 13 post on the show’s official Instagram account.
Fans were delighted with the news.
“This is the best Christmas present!” one wrote.
“OMGGG thank YOU SO MUCH, you guys really listened to us, thank you,” another commented.
Jacob returns home in ‘The Way Home’ Season 3
The Way Home Season 2 ended with Kat’s (Leigh) long-missing brother Jacob (Spencer Macpherson) deciding to return home to the present-day timeline after spending most of his life in the 18th century. A teaser for season 3 (via YouTube) shows Jacob getting a first glimpse of the farm he left behind so many years ago.
“That’s home,” he says before holding out a hand to his sister as they prepare to enter the Landry house and give their mother Del (Andie MacDowell) the shock of her life.
Kat might have succeeded in bringing her younger brother home, but the pond still has its secrets. For one, it seems that the Landry women aren’t the only ones who know about its unique capabilities.
“Someone other than us is time-traveling,” Kat’s daughter Alice (Sadie Laflamme-Snow) says.
The pond also decides to send Alice somewhere she doesn’t expect. Kat doesn’t know where (or when) her daughter is, but based on the teaser, it looks like she’ll be in the same timeline as a young Del. Will all this time-traveling help Del, Kat, and Alice better understand each other? Or will it put more pressure on already fragile relationships? Find out when The Way Home Season 3 premieres Friday, Jan. 3 at 9 p.m. ET on Hallmark Channel. Episodes stream the next day on Hallmark+.
