A new group of wealthy but dysfunctional travelers is about to jet off for another glam vacation in The White Lotus Season 3. The biting HBO satire returns on Feb. 16 with a new batch of episodes set in Thailand. 

As with the first two seasons – which took place in Hawaii and Sicily, respectively – the new season of the Mike White drama was filmed on-location at an exclusive vacation destination. Here’s the scoop on the real-life filming locations for The White Lotus Season 3. 

Much of ‘The White Lotus’ Season 3 was filmed at Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui

While the show’s White Lotus hotel chain is fictional, the HBO series films at a real-life five-star resort. Much of season 3 takes place at the Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui, an exclusive property located on a glamorous island in the Gulf of Thailand.  

Scenes filmed at the Four Seasons include those at the villa occupied by Timothy and Victoria Ratliff (Jason Isaacs and Parker Posey) and their three children, as well as the ladies’ villa and Rick (Walton Goggins) and Chelsea’s (Aimee Lou Wood) room. The breakfast and lunch restaurants, pool, beach, common areas, paths, water hammocks, gym, boxing ring, and spirit house scenes were also filmed at the Four Seasons, where rooms can cost more than $1,000 per night.

Several other hotels on Koh Samui were also used for filming The White Lotus Season 3. 

The White Lotus lobby, security station, hotel driveway, employee parking lot, and jewelry store scenes were all filmed at Anantara Bophut Koh Samui. Additional scenes set at The White Lotus Thailand were filmed at The Singing Bird Lounge at Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort and Ta Khai at Rosewood Phuket. Belinda’s (Natasha Rothwell) room, as well as the wellness sanctuary and spa, are at the Anantara Mai Khao Phuket. Some interiors were also built at Acts Studio in Bangkok. 

Guest arrivals were filmed at Ko Lawa Yai near Phang Nga Bay in Phuket, Ya Nui Beach in Phuket, and Mu Ko Ang Thong National Marine Park in Koh Samui. The Buddhist monastery seen in the show is actually Wat Pu Khao Thong in Koh Samui. Some interiors were also filmed at Cape Fahn / Pi Samui in Koh Samui, while the monastery garden scenes were filmed at the Dusit Dhewa Cultural Center. 

Other spots featured in The White Lotus Season 3 include the Phuket Yacht Haven Marina, Café Del Mar in Phuket, Mandarin Oriental Bangkok, Choeng Mon Beach in Koh Samui, Haad Rin Beach in Koh Phagnan, and Bangla Boxing in Phuket.  

The White Lotus Season 3 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on HBO. Episodes also stream on Max.
