‘The Young and the Restless’: Characters Who Could Return From the Dead
The Young and the Restless characters come and go from Genoa City. Unfortunately, many of them depart under tragic circumstances yet return miraculously alive. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and, most recently, Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) are a few characters who’ve returned from the dead. Here are a few other Genoa City citizens who could make a surprise comeback.
‘The Young and the Restless’ fans believe Drucilla Winters is still alive
If there’s one character, The Young and the Restless fans would love to see return; it’s Drucilla Winters (Victoria Rowell). Drucilla is one of the show’s beloved heroines, and her romance with Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) made them a super couple. For over 15 years, viewers watched Drucilla’s life story unfold.
Sadly, her life came to an end in April 2007. Drucilla and Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) fell off a cliff during a scuffle with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). While Sharon was rescued, Drucilla was never found, and she was presumed dead.
Rowell’s departure wasn’t on pleasant terms; the actor has accused CBS of racism and filed a lawsuit against the network. In 2019, Rowell returned for a special tribute to her late co-star St. John. This has given fans hope that one day a Drucilla return will happen. Since Neil’s death, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) could use their mom.
Colleen Carlton’s return would bring joy to Traci Abbott
Losing a child is every parents’ worst nightmare. In 2009, Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) grieved her daughter Colleen Carlton’s (Tammie Sursok) death. Colleen’s death occurred while being held captive by Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) in a remote cabin. Colleen managed to escape via canoe; however, she fell into the lake and drowned.
Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Victor arrive to stop Patty and try to save Colleen. After being taken to the hospital, doctors declared Colleen brain dead. Traci took her daughter off life support and donated her heart to Victor, who Patty shot.
Colleen’s death was upsetting to viewers who wish the storyline never happened. On a Reddit thread, fans voiced their support for Colleen returning. “I would love to see this story because Traci would get her daughter back,” wrote one user. “I wish they never got rid of Colleen. And bringing her back is so much better than Diane,” another commenter chimed in.
Delia Abbott’s death rocked ‘The Young and the Restless’
Years later, tragedy again struck the Abbott family for Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). Billy and Chloe Mitchell’s (Elizabeth Hendrickson) daughter Delia Abbott (Sophie Pollono) was killed after Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) accidentally ran over her.
It’s been eight years since Delia’s death, and the aftermath is still felt throughout Genoa City. Billy and Chloe have tried to kill Adam on multiple occasions. While everyone’s tried to move on, Delia’s death has had a lasting impact on The Young and the Restless.
Delia’s death is another that is heartbreaking for viewers. Although it seems like there are no plans to resurrect her, fans can’t help but wonder about her return. Delia’s comeback would bring happiness to Billy and Chloe and end their ongoing feud with Adam.
