The Young and the Restless‘ Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) is a character fans have a love/hate relationship with. As the daughter of Esther Valentine (Kate Linder), Chloe’s been creating havoc ever since returning to Genoa City in 2008. Yet, in recent years, Chloe’s gone from leading lady to busybody, something fans feel needs to change.

Chloe is a regularly featured character on The Young and the Restless. These days Chloe is a wife, mother, and fashion designer. Yet, most of the time, Chloe’s onscreen presence consists of meddling in her friend Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) life.
Chloe has inserted herself into the ongoing relationship drama between Chelsea and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). Her constant meddling is becoming annoying, and fans voiced their displeasure on Twitter over the lack of storylines for Chloe.
“My poor girl Chloe is continuously being wasted on this sorry excuse for a soap opera,” wrote one viewer. Another commenter chimed in with, “I’m more concerned about Chloe not having a better story than trying to keep Sally and Adam apart. They’re grownups, and so is she. They should give EH more.”
Chloe Mitchell’s previous storylines
When a grownup Chloe returned to The Young and the Restless in 2008, she quickly became a prominent character. Her first storyline consisted of trying to break up Lily Winter (Christel Khalil) and Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) by claiming Cane as the father of her baby. However, she later confesses that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) is Delia Abbott’s (Sophie Pollono).
Chloe’s love life would be a central focus of her storylines. She went on to have relationships with Billy, Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd), Ronan Malloy (Jeff Branson), and Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart).
In 2013, Chloe faced every mother’s fear when Delia was killed in an accidental hit-and-run by Adam. Chloe’s grief caused her to unravel and seek revenge against Adam, whom she tried to kill numerous times. Chloe left town to receive help but made several returns. She permanently returned in 2019 and is married to Kevin, with whom she has two children.
What’s next for the character?
The Young and the Restless fans will be disappointed because Chloe’s meddling isn’t over. With Chelsea and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) feuding over Adam, Chloe’s inserting herself into the drama. Chloe tells Adam to stay away from Chelsea and Sally for his good in an upcoming promo. Since Chloe has to work with both the women, she’ll be playing peacemaker as the two bring their feud to the office.
While Chloe continues to be a meddler, fans hope the show will give her a proper storyline. Viewers have expressed interest in seeing Chloe dump Kevin for a new love interest. Many people would love to see Chloe reunite with Chance or start a forbidden romance with Adam. Fans hope that whatever 2022 has in store for Chloe will be more intriguing than Chelsea and Adam’s drama.
