The Young and the Restless is a long-running soap opera that has managed to accumulate millions of fans worldwide. It has been on the air since 1973, and as the sister series to The Bold and the Beautiful, many fans have watched as dozens of interesting characters have been introduced, forming new and intriguing storylines.

Two of the hottest characters on The Young and the Restless are Mariah Copeland and Tessa Porter, played by Camryn Grimes and Cait Fairbanks. In light of the characters’ recent engagement on the show, fans are taking to social media to call for more storylines involving the pair.

What did fans recently say about Camryn Grimes and Cait Fairbanks?

The characters of Mariah and Tessa have been around on The Young and the Restless for quite some time. The fan-favorites eventually got romantically involved, becoming one of the most popular couples on the hit daytime soap.

In late 2021, speculation started swirling that Tessa and Mariah would be getting engaged, marking not only a big step forward for the characters but also for representation for LGBTQ people on television. The rumors were confirmed in mid-January 2022 when Tessa and Mariah got engaged.

Fans on Twitter had plenty of praise for Grimes’ and Fairbanks’ recent performances, saying it’s clear they put the most into their scenes. Fans commented that they appreciate how much work they put in and how clear it is they understand the importance of representing an LGBTQ couple.

Is Cait Fairbanks under contract with ‘The Young and the Restless’?

Although fans love the chemistry between the actors Camryn Grimes and Cait Fairbanks, who play Mariah and Tessa, there are major differences between the connections that both performers have with the production of The Young and the Restless.

Grimes, who has been with the show since 1997 in some capacity, is under contract with The Young and the Restless. However, Fairbanks, who plays Tessa, has a smaller role within the show and, according to SoapHub, doesn’t have a full-time contract with the TV series.

Viewers certainly believe that Fairbanks should be brought on board for a full contract. Fans on Twitter hope to see Fairbanks under contract soon, as it would signal there will be more to see with Mariah and Tessa in the future, especially after the pair are married.
