‘The Young and the Restless’: Robert Adamson Is Bringing Noah Newman Back to Town
The Newman family on The Young and the Restless will have another member on-screen right now. Actor Robert Adamson will bring Noah, one of Victor’ Newman‘s grandchildren, back to town for a stint that is sure to make a lot of fans happy.
A history of the actors who have played Noah Newman
As the son of Nick and Sharon Newman, and the grandson of Victor and Nikki Newman, Noah is an important legacy character in the history of the show. He was first written on the show in 1997. Several infant and child actors were in the role from 1997 up until 2005.
Hunter Allen, then most notable child actor to play Noah, was in the role from 2005 to 2008. in 2008, the character was rapidly aged to be a teenager and Kevin Schmidt debuted in the role. He played Noah from 2008-2010. After taking a leave of absence from the show, Schmidt was eventually recast. Luke Kleintank debuted as the new Noah in 2010. He was in the role very brief, only appearing in seven episodes. Schmidt was brought back to the show and appeared on a recurring basis in several episodes from 2011 to 2012. However, he exited the soap once again and the role was recast again.
Soon after the announcement that Schmidt would no longer be in the role, Adamson was revealed as the new Adam. He portrayed the character on a series regular basis up until 2016 before moving to recurring status. He left the soap altogether in 2018. He returned twice for guest stints later in 2018 and then had another one in February 2020.
Important things to note about the character
Overall, a most of Noah’s storyline since the characters introduction have had to do with the ups and downs of his parents’ relationship and the impact it as on him. He once dated Eden Baldwin, the younger sister of Michael Baldwin. Noah also had a very brief relationship with Jana Hawkes. Other romantic relationships include Adriana Stone and Courtney Sloane. The latter gets murdered on the day they were supposed to get married. The character was a casualty of a serial killer storyline on the show.
Here’s what we know so far about his return
Adamson will begin reappearing on the show next week, beginning on Sept. 4. It will be just a short stint and he will appear for only a few episodes.
According to Adamson, due to the production circumstances amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, he wasn’t sure if he would be able to return to the show at all soon. “Just when I figured that the opportunity to play Noah again had disappeared, production started up again and I got the call from Y&R,” he told Soap Opera Digest.
Recently, Adamson had a recurring role opposite Cobie Smulders, Michael Ealy and Jake Johnson on ABC’s Stumptown.
