‘The Young and the Restless’ Speculation: Is Allie’s Mother a Genoa City Character?
The Young and the Restless newcomer Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang) is winning the audience’s approval. As the newest member of the Abbott family, Allie is welcomed with open arms. Yet, there are still questions to be answered about her past, including her mother’s identity.
Allie Nguyen’s mother comes to ‘The Young and the Restless’
Allie’s life has been turned upside-down recently on The Young and the Restless. The young woman is grieving her father Keemo Abbott’s (Philip Moon) death and discovering she had a grandfather she didn’t know. Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) is trying to connect with his granddaughter. Although Allie was hesitant, she’s now accepting Jack as her family.
She’ll get a chance to meet other members of the Abbott family when she visits Genoa City. As Allie adjusts to being an Abbott, there’s still one big mystery of her past. Everyone wants to know about her mother.
So far, the only thing that’s known about Allie and her mother is they are estranged. Viewers will learn more about the pair when Allie’s mother comes to town. In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, head writer Josh Griffith reveals plans to bring Allie’s mom to Genoa City.
“There’s still this whole other side of, why is she estranged from her mom? All she had was her dad, and now she has no one, but she’s left with a grandfather that she never knew existed. She’ll be coming into this very cautiously, and she’ll have a wonderful journey to take.”
Is her mother a former Genoa City resident?
The Young and the Restless fans are curious about Allie’s mother. Speculation is starting on the women’s identity, and some fans believe she may be a former Genoa City character. The first candidate is Mari Jo Mason (Diana Barton).
Mari Jo is Jack’s ex-fiancee, but she later dated Keemo. However, Mari Jo and Keemo’s relationship ended when she paid a hooker to sleep with him. After Keemo left town, Mari Jo tried to reunite with Jack, but Keemo sent him a fax to be cautious of her.
Mari Jo was later locked up in a psychiatric ward after shooting Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). Her whereabouts are unknown, but there’s a possibility she could’ve tracked down Keemo about her release. She and Keemo may have rekindled their relationship, which resulted in Allie’s birth.
Another possibility for Allie’s mother is Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters). While this seems unlikely, stranger things have happened. Recently, Allie came to Diane’s defense when Jack and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) were badmouthing her. Secretly, they could be in cahoots to get revenge on Jack for turning his back on Keemo.

Whether Allie’s mother is or isn’t a Genoa City character remains to be seen. However, one thing is sure; her life will be changed when Mama Nguyen comes to town. Naturally, Allie will be upset, and it’ll open up old wounds.
While Allie will be hesitant to give her mother a second chance, the recent events may have her rethinking her decision. Jack’s preaching of the importance of family will have Allie reconnect with her mom. But will the young lady be heartbroken by her decision?
