‘The Young and the Restless’: Who Did Demi Lovato’s Fiancé Max Ehrich Play on the Show?
If you didn’t know who Max Ehrich was before this weekend, you’ll likely know more about him now, even if you only know him through his future wife, Demi Lovato. Ehrich has been in the entertainment industry for many years now, including a daytime soap opera.
Who is Max Ehrich?
Ehrich is an actor, singer, and dancer. He is perhaps best known for his role on The Young and the Restless. But outside of the soap opera, the 29-year-old has also been in aa lot of other things. One of his earliest roles was a principal dancer in High School Musical 3: Senior Year.
After having guest roles on several television shows, including Ugly Betty, he landed his The Young and the Restless role. After this, he had major recurring roles in the CBS sci-fi drama, Under the Dome and Nickelodeon’s 100 Things to Do Before High School. His more recent roles include Lifetime’s American Princess and the Netflix film Walk. Ride. Rodeo.
The actor and singer played Fenmore Baldwin on the soap
From 2012-2015, Ehrich portrayed Fenmore Baldwin on The Young and the Restless. His performance garnered critical acclaim, as he was nominated for the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series in 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016.
Ehrich talked about his experience on the show a few years ago in 2013 for an interview with Soaps.com. In the interview, he compared working on a soap opera to working in theatre. ” I relate it the most to theater [sic] because you do a scene in one take,” he said. “It is almost even more difficult than theater because you get a new script every day and it is such a quick pace. I really can’t compare it to anything else I’ve done. I have never done anything else like this, where the turnover is so quick you do everything with no rehearsal time, which is a rush. Definitely a rush. And I have so much profound respect to anyone on a soap opera because I understand how much work it is.”
Ehrich on his first Emmy nomination
He also spoke about his first Emmy nomination, which included Fenmore’s dark side and a lot of the bad things that he began to do. “I chose this reel because it was a particular episode where I felt really out of control,” he explained. “It was when Fen kind of took a turn for the dark side, when his emotions for Summer surfaced to such an extreme that he kind of lost it. And I found that I lost myself in that day.”
He continued, “I remember that specific day and those specific scenes. I didn’t watch many episodes to compare it to because it was a feeling that I got when I filmed it that I just knew it was a really special episode for me. Whether it was my best work, I have no idea. To me it felt the most – it was something I had never done before, being that dark and out of control, so it was definitely a learning experience for me. That is why I chose it.”
The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. New episodes for the soap opera should begin airing any day now.
