Theresa Nist Hints at Darker Reason for Her ‘The Golden Bachelor’ Divorce
The Golden Bachelor couple, Theresa Nist and Gerry Turner, presented a united front when they announced their divorce after just three months of marriage. Since their April 2024 divorce, the first-ever golden couple has kept pretty low profiles. Nist, apparently, is ready to start talking. The finance professional from New Jersey recently appeared on a podcast and suggested there might have been a darker reason behind her divorce from Gerry Turner.
Theresa Nist suggests there is more to the story when it comes to the end of her marriage
Theresa Nist mainly stayed quiet in the months following her divorce from Gerry Turner. Now, months removed from the finalization of the split, Nist is opening up about what went wrong. During a November appearance on Almost Famous, the reality TV personality insisted that while distance did come into play, it wasn’t the only reason she and Turner decided to part ways.
While she was more open than she had been, Nist is still keeping some secrets. She insinuated there was a darker reason behind her divorce. Still, she wouldn’t elaborate. She told podcast co-hosts Ben Higgins and Ashley Iaconetti that her marriage failed because you can’t know someone after a few weeks. She insisted she didn’t want to reveal more on the topic, nor was she interested in discussing it further.
Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist initially blamed distance for the end of their marriage
Nist is now alleging that there is more to her story than she initially presented. At the time of the divorce announcement, Nist and Turner insisted the distance was what came between them. During their announcement on Good Morning America, the couple said that they never managed to settle on the right place to live following their January nuptials.
They explained that neither wanted to give up their life in their respective states and opted to part ways because of it. Nist, who lives in New Jersey, was still working as a finance professional during the marriage. Turner, who called Indiana home, seemed to enjoy the lake life. The couple allegedly planned to move to South Carolina together. Nist now claims Turner changed the plan following their vows.
Is either one of them dating someone new?
While Nist and Turner were quick to turn up the heat on their relationship following The Golden Bachelor, the former duo appears to be taking things slower these days. Neither Nist nor Turner have revealed whether they are seriously dating anyone. Turner, who posts sporadically on Instagram, has kept his posts mostly about his family.
Nist, who updates Instagram more regularly, enjoys sharing snaps from her travels, cooking, and family events. She recently posted with her competitor, Leslie Fhima, after a West Coast visit. Fhima was Turner’s runner-up on The Golden Bachelor. She struggled to say positive things about Turner following the show’s end but appears to be happily moving on with another member of Bachelor Nation.
