If you’re looking for a good scare, or just some nostalgia, look no further than Disney’s streaming platform, Disney+. There, fans can watch some of the 1990s’ most iconic Halloween movies, from Hocus Pocus to Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. (There are even some forgotten favorites from the early 2000s.)

‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’

It’s still up for debate whether or not this is a Christmas movie or Halloween movie. Nevertheless, The Nightmare Before Christmas is a holiday favorite of fans worldwide, telling the story of Jack Skellington, the leader of a fictional “Halloweentown.”

Everything changes for this character when he stumbles upon Christmastown, finding himself obsessed with the new holiday. Thanks to a partnership with Disney, this movie is available for streaming on Disney+.

There’s even an original series on Disney+, Prop Culture, which looks at the props behind the stop motion animation film. The host interviews Danny Elfman, the composer and voice behind the singing Jack Skellington. He also comes in contact with a few of the characters featured in the movie.

‘Hocus Pocus’

It’s just a bunch of Hocus Pocus — or is it? When one virgin stumbles upon the Sanderson Sisters’ home and lights the legendary black flame candle, he accidentally brings the three witches back to life.

It’s now up to Max, his sister, and friend to save the children of Salem from their latest spell. That’s not to mention the show-stopping performance by the Sanderson Sisters, Winifred, Mary and Sarah.

Hocus Pocus, originally released in 1993, features Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy as the iconic Sanderson Sisters. Although this movie oftentimes is available on the television network Freeform, it’s available for binge-watching anytime, thanks to a subscription to Disney+.

‘Halloweentown’

Who wouldn’t want to live in a town with witches, warlocks, skeletons, and ghosts? This movie stars Debbie Reynolds and Judith Hoag as two of the most powerful witches in Halloweentown.

That all changes when Hoag’s character, Gwen, decides to marry a human and live a “normal” life with her three children.

That all changes when her two daughters start exhibiting their “powers” and interest in all things Halloween. Disney Channel’s original movie, Halloweentown, as well as its sequels, are available for binge-watching on Disney+.
