These Photos From Prince Louis’ Christening Will Take Your Breath Away
If Kensington Palace releases official images on their verified Twitter account, you know they’re going to be stunning. It was no different when their social media page released a handful of new images for us to admire.
These photos were taken on the day of Prince Louis’ christening, which took place on July 9, 2018. Royal family fans anxiously awaited the arrival of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s third child, who was born on Apr. 23, 2018. His official title, by the way, is “His Royal Highness Prince Louis of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland” — and he’s fifth in line for the throne.
Kensington Palace released the photo above, along with three additional photographs, on Monday, July 16, 2018. “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have released four official photographs to mark the christening of Prince Louis on Monday 9th July,” the tweet reads. “The photographs were taken by Matt Holyoak at Clarence House, following Prince Louis’s christening.”
Matt Holyoak is a celebrity photographer, who regularly features his photos on his Instagram page. As if his work with the royal family didn’t speak volumes already, his page features some familiar faces you may recognize as Jennifer Lawrence, Salma Hayek, and Timothée Chalamet.
Holyoak took to Instagram to voice his excitement, writing, “Moments like these. It was an honour and a privilege to photograph the christening of Prince Louis’ #princelouis @kensingtonroyal.”
Holyoak was also behind the camera for the photo shared above. This family shot just might be our favorite, as Louis’ two older siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, are letting their sass shine through. Plus, William looks like he may just be the proudest father who ever lived.
In sharing this photo, Kensington Palace tweeted, “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, following Prince Louis’s christening.”
Following the release of Holyoak’s photos, Kensington Palace shared an additional close-up photo of just Middleton and Louis, taken by Matt Porteous. He’s already a trusted photographer of the royal family, as he captured Prince George’s third birthday portraits.
Both Middleton and Louis are radiating happiness in the photo above, and we can’t get enough of it. They were all smiles while posing in the garden at Clarence House after the christening.
Kensington Palace wrote, “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have released an additional photograph taken following the christening of Prince Louis. The Duke and Duchess hope that everyone enjoys this lovely photograph of Prince Louis as much as they do.”
Prince Louis’ christening wasn’t the first time we got to see gorgeous photos including the newest royal. Just days after his birth, Kensington Palace shared an adorable shot of Louis, along with his big sister, Charlotte, giving him a loving kiss on the forehead. If these siblings were already forming a special relationship, we can’t even imagine the close bond they have now.
