‘The Masked Singer’ Season 2 Fans Have Already Figured Out Who the Thingamajig Is
During the two hour premiere of The Masked Singer, viewers were introduced to eight new contestants: Butterfly, Egg, Thingamajig, Skeleton, Rottweiler, Ladybug, Tree, and Ice Cream.
After several great performances and smackdowns, Egg and Ice Cream ended up having to reveal themselves. Thingmajig impressed the audience with “Easy” by The Commodores, and they voted for him to stay.
Additionally, his distinctive smooth voice made fans go crazy on Twitter, claiming they already figured out the person behind the mask. Who do they think it is, and are they right?
What are ‘The Masked Singer’ Thingamajig’s clues?
In the Thingamajig’s intro, he rapped his clues, unlike the other masked singers who spoke them. He said he’s a gentle giant and claims he loves to sing, even though that’s not his thing.
Thingamajig also had a briefcase and began pulling juggling scarves out of them, as well as basketball shoes. He then ended the package by blowing out a number four birthday candle on a cupcake.
Already knowing the man in the costume was a basketball player, the judges weren’t expecting much and were blown away by his rendition of “Easy” by The Commodores.
Ken Jeong claimed he knew who the famous person was before he started singing, and they guessed Michael Strahan, Steph Curry, or Dennis Rodman. Thingamajig competed against Skeleton and won the audience vote, advancing to the next round.
Who do fans believe is in the Thingamajig costume?
Because of the basketball clues and number four candle, which could represent his jersey number, fans believe Thingamajig is Indiana Pacer’s point guard, Victor Oladipo.
Unknown to most, he is also a singer who has released a couple of albums. Almost immediately after Thingamajig performed, #ThingamajigMask and Victor Oladipo were trending on Twitter because fans went crazy when they realized who was hiding in the costume.
Who is Victor Oladipo?
Born May 4, 1992, in Silver Spring, Maryland, Oladipo played basketball in high school, and the Washington Post named him to their 2010 All-Met First Team and First Team All-WCAC.
He took his talents to Indiana University over Notre Dame, Xavier, and more, majoring in sports communication broadcasting. He excelled playing college basketball and earned several awards including the title of Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year as a junior.
Oladipo decided to enter the 2013 NBA draft instead of finishing his senior year, and the Orlando Magic drafted him second overall. He played for the Magic from 2013 until 2016 when he was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The 27-year-old only played there for a year until he was traded to his current team, the Indiana Pacers. Even though most people know about his outstanding basketball performance, not many were aware that he’s also a talented singer.
The admitted Donny Hathaway fan released his debut EP, “Songs For You,” in 2017, and signed with WME the following year. He then dropped his first album on November 30, 2018, titled V.O. to mediocre reviews. Do you think Victor Oladipo is the Thingamajig?
