This 1 NCT 127 Member Is Apparently Really Bad at Recognizing People
NCT 127 is known for being a talented bunch. After debuting in 2016, the group has been captivating fans all over the world with their catchy songs, impeccable dance moves, and amazing visuals.
However, just because NCT 127 seems perfect on stage does not mean the members are good at everything. In fact, one member has been said to be really bad at recognizing people, including his own bandmates.
NCT 127 once revealed that Yuta is really bad at recognizing people
Yuta is NCT 127’s only Japanese member. He is known for being one of the group’s most skilled dancers. Yet, it seems Yuta can be quite oblivious when it comes to recognizing people.
In an interview with SiriuxXM in 2019, the members were asked to choose who is “most likely to not recognize a celebrity.” The majority of the group chose Yuta, including Yuta himself.
“Compared to the other members, he might not be good at identifying people,” Mark explained. “He sometimes can’t even [recognize] me.”
Yuta once got 2 celebrities mixed up
Although Yuta’s confusion with people isn’t seen often by fans, he did show this once during an interview. When NCT 127 did an interview with Eric Zachary last year, the group was asked to name Hollywood celebrities they would like to co-star with in a movie or music video.
While the members threw out names of actors like Leonardo DiCaprio, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Kevin Hart, Yuta decided to say “Sam Smith.”
Given that Sam Smith is a singer, everyone was quite confused by his answer. However, Yuta quickly clarified that he meant Will Smith. Of course, since Sam Smith and Will Smith do not look alike, it’s likely Yuta was mixing them up based on their similar names.
Perhaps after that amusing incident, Yuta has learned to keep Sam Smith and Will Smith separate in his head.
Yuta is known for having a sweet personality
Among many NCT 127 fans, Yuta is known for having a sweet personality. In their numerous videos, such as the NCT Life series, Yuta can often be seen helping his fellow members and offering them kind words when they are going through difficult times.
In the “Friendship Test” video hosted by Glamour in early 2020, Mark revealed that he learned this about Yuta when they first met.
“When I first met Yuta, it was the summer of 2012, and I remember this precisely because it was the month where I first got into the label as well and he came like a few days after me,” Mark said. “I just knew that he was so nice. You could see it in his eyes.”
Additionally, because NCT 127 is made up of members from different parts of the world, Yuta tries to be respectful of everyone, especially when it comes to disagreements within the group.
Speaking to Japanese magazine Men’s Non-no about how to prevent fights with his members, Yuta said, as reported by Koreaboo, “I make my best effort to figure out how I can make myself understood by people and how I can make my point while respecting others… More than ever, we had various experiences together as a team, so we can understand each other without any arguments.”
