This Famous Actor Called Kate Hudson His ‘Worst on-Screen Kiss Ever’
Kate Hudson is rom-com royalty. Over the years, she’s starred in many romantic films and has played characters who have had racy escapades and steamy hookups with their on-screen counterparts.
While most of Hudson’s former male co-stars have had nothing but good things to say about their experience working with her, one actor didn’t speak highly of their romantic encounter on film. In fact, he revealed that his lip-locking scene with Hudson was so bad, he considers it his worst on-screen kiss to date.
Kate Hudson has starred in many romantic films
Hudson has been in a lot of movies. From psychological thrillers to light-hearted and feel-good films, Hudson has demonstrated that she is well-versed in all movie genres. But without a doubt, her most well-trodden film territory is romantic comedy.
Hudson is best known for her roles in rom-coms such as How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days, Bride Wars, Something Borrowed, and You, Me & Dupree.
And since she has starred in so many romantic films over the years, the actor has frequently found herself in the position where an on-screen kiss is an expectation of the role she’s playing.
From locking lips with John Corbitt in Raising Helen to kissing Billy Crudup in Almost Famous, Hudson has had many steamy scenes and heartwarming moments with her on-screen love interests.
But despite her on-screen romances coming across as convincing, one of those intimate moments was far from enjoyable for one of Hudson’s former co-stars, and he previously opened up about that experience on national television.
Dane Cook didn’t enjoy kissing Hudson in ‘My Best Friend’s Girl’
In 2014, Dane Cook — who’s best known for his roles in films such as Employee of the Month and Good Luck Chuck — appeared on an episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, where he called out Hudson for being his worst on-screen kiss ever.
Though the pair’s kissing scenes in My Best Friend’s Girl were rather steamy, locking lips with Hudson was pretty unpleasant for Cook because, according to him, she had bad breath at the time.
“I did a movie with her, My Best Friend’s Girl, and I think she purposely ate like a feast of onions before our scene,” he told Cohen. “I had to burn her on that one!”
Hudson has also shared her worst on-screen kiss
Like Cook, Hudson has also had pretty subpar kissing scenes with one of her rom-com co-stars and revealed who it was during an appearance on Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop podcast on Oct. 13.
As they discussed their best and worst on-screen makeouts, Hudson shared that she did not enjoy her kisses scenes with Matthew McConaughey, noting that all of their on-screen smooches took place during less than desirable circumstances.
“The thing is, every time I kiss McConaughey, it’s like, I mean, it’s like there’s just something happening and there’s like snot or wind, or things are just,” she told Paltrow as she laughed. “Like when we were kissing in the end of Fool’s Gold, we’re like in the ocean, we like had the plane crash, he just had snot all over his face.”
