The acclaimed hit, The Office, aired on NBC from 2005 to 2013. Dunder Mifflin salesmen Jim Halpert (John Krasinski) and Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson) became America’s favorite co-workers.

Right out of the gate, in Season One Episode One, Jim pulled off a classic prank by putting Dwight’s stapler into a Jell-O mold. For the next nine seasons, Jim and Dwight spent most of their time pranking each other instead of working. It was usually funny and harmless, but a few times it became borderline inhumane.

Jim questions if his pranks pulled on Dwight were funny

Dwight threatens to quit after Jim messes with his new identification badge. Jim labeled Dwight as a security threat and changed his middle name of Kurt to “Fart.” Dwight goes to the Human Resources Director, Toby, to file a complaint against Jim. It’s then that he realizes all of his complaint reports were sitting in a box under Toby’s desk and never acted on. Furious, Dwight demands Michael take action.

As Michael reads the long laundry list of complaints, Jim realizes how much time he wasted at the office. He starts to question whether moving Dwight’s desk to the bathroom was funny. He remembers paying co-workers $5 each to spend the day calling Dwight “Dwayne.”

He didn’t see the harm in using Dwight’s name to order 15 large pizzas for delivery. It was all laughs when he convinced Dwight to purchase magic beans from a garage sale. But, it went a little too far when Jim told Dwight there was an abandoned baby in the women’s bathroom that needed to be rescued. Dwight believed him and ran in to find co-worker Meredith sitting on the toilet.

Pam gets in on the action

Early on, Jim recruited Pam (Jenna Fischer) to help him prank Dwight. Together, the two pulled off some doozies. Like the time they posted Dwight’s resume online in response to job listings in Alaska. Or, when she and Jim convinced Dwight that he had telekinetic powers.

One of Pam’s best moments was when she sketched a photo of Dwight without glasses. Dwight, not recognizing himself, used the photo on a flyer to catch an alleged local flasher.

Dwight pranks himself

Jim had a knack for convincing Dwight to prank himself so that he could frame Jim. Dwayne has written IDIOT on his own forehead, hid a porcupine in his desk drawer, and vandalized his own car by writing “Jim is Awesome” on it. With Jim’s prodding, Dwight even beat himself up.

Dwight gets the last laugh and destroys the happy Halpert home

For 201 episodes, Dwight was the victim of Jim’s pranks. The vicious snowball fight was pretty good payback, but Dwight wanted more. He finally decided to seek the ultimate revenge. Unfortunately, he took it a little too far.

In Season 6, Pam and Jim have a baby. Pam goes into labor at the office, and Michael drives them to the hospital. She forgets her iPod that has the birth music she needs to relax, so frantically asks Dwight to go to the house and get it for her.

Jim reminds him not to “touch anything.” Dwight gets to Pam and Jim’s house, and while searching for the iPod finds mold under the kitchen sink. He decides to move into their house to remodel the kitchen.

He spends days tearing apart the cabinets and wreaking havoc on the entire house. Dwight being Dwight takes it a little too far and goes on a rampage. He gets into their tub to take a bath and sleeps naked in their bed. Pam and Jim return home with the new baby to discover the mess Dwight made.

Jim, for the first time, is left speechless.
