With Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause making her Dancing with the Stars debut, This Is Us star — and Stause’s ex — is catching major flack (again). The drama between the two went public upon Hartley’s 2019 divorce filing but fans are chiming in on another of his Instagram posts. This time, it involves his daughter.

Hartley’s personal life has been under public scrutiny over the last few months. But, his relationship with 16-year-old daughter Isabella has remained as strong as ever.

The This Is Us star often brings “Bella” to his events, talk show appearances, and screenings. Hartley was married to Bella’s mother, Lindsay Korman-Hartley. The two met while working on the set of Passions together when Hartley joined in 2002. Korman-Hartley joined in 1999.

They married in 2004 and divorced in 2012. Hartley married Stause in 2017 and filed for divorce in 2019.

Amidst the growing scandal involving Stause and Hartley, Korman-Hartley remains by her ex-husband’s side, stating via Instagram “I appreciate my ex-husband Justin for not only being exemplification of a solid man but for being my dear friend and devoted father to our daughter.”

While some applauded the post, others felt it came off as forced and even ironic considering all that’s happened between Hartley and Stause.

Fans associate Hartley’s divorce drama with parenting and it’s brutal

In early July, Hartley posted a loving birthday tribute to Bella, calling himself a “proud papa.” The sentiment struck a nerve among fans prompting a slew of comments insinuating Hartley’s hypocrasy.

“what an example of a father. I hope never the same with your daughter. let no man end it by message. Girls are often told “look for someone better than your father, because no one will be so kind,” one fan commented.

“I hope his daughter takes note and finds a man totally opposite,” another said.

“How would you feel if your daughter married a “man” like you? Disgraceful,”another stated.

The comments go on and on. And, while everyone has the right to their opinion, some defended Hartley.

“dang. people need to stop hating so much. fathers can make relationship mistakes and still be good dads. my dad did. it’s a sweet photo and a sweet moment, and i would’ve been so happy to see something like this from my dad.

Clearly the divorce drama bled into all avenues of Hartley’s life, leaving some to wonder how it’ll affect This Is Us upon its fall return.

Hartley erased all signs of Stause on social media — but she didn’t do the same

The internet is a magnet for negativity, no matter what celebrities are going through. In the case of Hartley and Stause, some have taken to The Young and the Restless alum — and Hartley’s reported girlfriend — Sofia Pernas’ social media accounts to state their opinions.

Regardless of where fans stand, Hartley removed all signs of Stause from his platforms to show he’s moved on. Meanwhile, Stause’s history with her ex is readily available for all to see.

Some told Stause to “delete” evidence of Hartley just as he did. Instead, the DWTS contestant is taking the high road. Just last year, Stause posted a birthday tribute to Bella of her own and it remains on her page.

“Family dinner to celebrate @bellajusticehartley’s birthday!!! Wishing you the happiest of birthdays!!! Love you so much 💗😘😘
(Side note: this was my 1st time eating at Benihana & I loved it! Sorry Drake 😆🤷🏻‍♀️)” she captioned a photo of herself, Bella, Hartley, and Hartley’s sister, Gabriela.

We don’t know how all of this will end for Hartley or Stause. Hopefully, Bella isn’t caught in the crosshairs or fan debate over Hartley’s personal life. Regardless, catch Stause on DWTS every Monday on ABC and Hartley this Nov. on This Is Us.
