‘This Is Us’: Justin Hartley Says Kevin ‘Has the Tools’ to Fall in Love Now
Many This Is Us fans have their eyes peeled on Kevin (Justin Hartley) and who he will marry by the end of the series. But is the beloved character ready to find his forever person? Hartley thinks so. Recently, the This Is Us Season 6 star revealed his thoughts on his character’s journey, and he hinted that Kevin finally “has the tools” to fall in love.
Kevin’s love story so far on ‘This Is Us’
Kevin’s love story on This Is Us has been a bit of a mess over the years. The character married Sophie (Alexandra Breckenridge) at a young age, and they eventually divorced. But Kevin always seems to go back to her. He also found love with Zoe (Melanie Liburd), but the two decided to break up after they realized they wanted completely different things.
Meanwhile, Kevin hooked up with his friend, Cassidy (Jennifer Morrison), when both addicts were at their lowest. Now, it seems like Cassidy and Kevin could reconnect in episode 5 of This Is Us Season 6.
Even so, Kevin also has a strong connection with Madison (Caitlin Thompson), who is the mother of his twins after a one-night stand. The two were set to get married. However, Madison ended things when she realized that she deserved to be with someone who actually loved her.

Clearly, Kevin has plenty to think about when it comes to love going into This Is Us Season 6. But whatever the case, it seems Hartley believes his character is ready to find his perfect match.
“He’s starting to understand love, what it means, what it looks like, and what it feels like,” Hartley told Story + Rain of Kevin. “He got married when he was really young and made some mistakes. Now he’s older. I always say this about him: for the first time in his life he has the tools, the proper tools to complete the job.”
He added, “Kevin has all the tools and all the supplies now, and it’s just a matter of putting everything together. I think he really wants to.”

Now, This Is Us has indicated that Kevin gets his happy ending by the series finale. The character is seen with a wedding ring in the flash-forward. But fans still need to see how it all happens. But whether Kevin gets what he wants in the end, it seems Hartley believes fans viewers will be “very satisfied” by the overall story.
“I think the audience will be very satisfied,” Hartley told Glamour in January 2022. “He went through all that hell and self-doubt and addiction, and he’s found himself in a really interesting place. I think it will be really fulfilling to see where he ends up. It’s nice.”
