This Is Us fans dread the show’s end, as does the cast. But that doesn’t mean they can’t throw out ideas for movies or spinoffs to continue telling the Pearson family’s story. And Justin Hartley, who plays Kevin in This Is Us, has a great idea for a spinoff for his character.

Justin Hartley’s idea for a ‘This Is Us’ spinoff for Kevin

While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Justin Hartley revealed his idea for a This Is Us spinoff.

“I would do The Manny,” the actor said. “I think it would be a smash hit. We would have cameos by all of these [This Is Us] actors, but we wouldn’t really mention the fact that they were who they were. They would be different characters.”

Hartley added, “You know what would be really funny? Maybe they would be their characters, and it’d be like, ‘Chris Sullivan used to be on This Is Us with me, and now I’m the Manny.’ Maybe we do something like a Larry David kind of thing. That would be kind of funny: Curb Your Manny.”

Given that fans love Kevin in This Is Us, we’re sure that many people would watch Hartley’s proposed spinoff. We hope NBC is taking notes.

How will Kevin’s story end in ‘This Is Us’ Season 6?

Before fans can start getting excited about the prospect of a spinoff, This Is Us has to answer one of the show’s biggest mysteries — who is Kevin’s soulmate?

Some fans believe that Kevin might end up alone by the time This Is Us comes to an end. But he is wearing a wedding ring during the flash-forward scenes at his house. So it stands to reason that Kevin does marry someone in the future. And he has a long list of possible suitors. From Madison to Sophie, it isn’t easy to know who he ends up marrying.

In This Is Us Season 6 Episode 5, Kevin tried to start something with Cassidy, but she quickly turned him down. She was brutally honest with him and told him that he was a “big, handsome wrecking ball” that always accidentally blows up womens’ lives. And Cassidy didn’t want to get her heart broken by him.

Maybe Kevin and Cassidy aren’t meant to be, but one can never be sure with This Is Us. As far as we know, every woman Kevin meets could be his future wife.

Dan Fogelman is not ready to shut down ideas for a ‘This Is Us’ movie

According to Deadline, This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman revealed that he would be open to making a movie, so fans might not have to say goodbye to Kevin just yet.

“I say no to nothing,” he shared. “I’m very aware that a midlife crisis is right around the corner for me and that whatever I do next, I’m going to hate in comparison to this show and these actors. So I say no to nothing … If we can figure out a movie down the road, I’d love to get back together with these guys and do it. I don’t know what that would be. By the end of this season, I think we’ll have told the complete story, so I’m not sure.”

Hopefully, the This Is Us ending will satisfy fans, and there won’t be a need for a spinoff or movie. But Justin Hartley’s idea might be too good to resist.
