'This Is Us' fans want to know what Madison's career is. Kevin's fiance isn't shown working on the series at all, so how does she afford her house?

‘This Is Us’: Madison and Kevin’s relationship timeline

Madison and Kevin on This Is Us did not intend to have children together. They were not in a relationship at all when they conceived their twins. Madison is Kate’s close friend that she met in a support group. Madison and Kevin had only met a few times at family gatherings and Kate’s wedding.

However, one afternoon, Kevin went to visit baby Jack when he unexpectedly ran into Madison. She was dog-sitting when the two ended up commiserating about their non-existent love lives together. Things took a turn, and they had sex. What they imagined would only be a one-time thing turned into something else when Madison realized she was pregnant.

During the pandemic, Kevin moved in with Madison to be there for her throughout her pregnancy. He accepted a job offer for a movie that ended up shooting in Canada. However, while filming, Madison went into labor. Kevin rushed back and made it in time for the delivery of their twins.

‘This Is Us’: What is Madison’s job?

Fans want to know what Madison’s job is on This Is Us. Viewers know that Kevin is an actor, but they have never seen his fiance work.

“What does Madison DO for a living?” one fan asked on Reddit. “Do we even know? She owns a house with more bedrooms than she needs, in an extremely expensive part of the country, and the decorating in the guest room alone must have cost 10 thousand dollars. I want to know where Madison’s money comes from.”

Several other viewers gave their insight into what they believed her job was.

“I thought she was an event planner?” one fan wrote. “Thinking back to her decorating abilities at parties etc., but maybe they haven’t said.”

Another fan thought she came from a wealthy family and her work was “more for enjoyment.” When we met Madison, she was volunteering at the high school where Kate applied. So, it seems like she doesn’t need to support herself. It turns out that This Is Us hasn’t explored Madison enough for fans to know the answer to this question completely.

‘This Is Us’ Season 5 will explore Kevin’s fiance’s Backstory

Thankfully, the producers plan to visit Madison’s past in This Is Us Season 5.

“We’re going to get into Madison’s origin story deeper into the season,” executive producer Isaac Aptaker told Entertainment Weekly in February 2021.

He did not reveal whether they would talk about her career. However, from what Aptaker explained, fans will find out how she grew up very differently from Kevin.

“It’s interesting because you have Kevin, who came from this really picture-perfect in a lot of ways nuclear family; they have their flaws, but those parents couldn’t have been more committed. And he’s trying to live up to that and replicate it in a sense,” Aptaker said. “Madison is kind of the opposite, and we’ll learn more about her background. She’s trying to create something that she never necessarily had for herself — and give that to her children.”

This Is Us Season 5 airs Tuesday nights on NBC.
